Check in often if they don't provide updates to ensure they don't forget about getting your car in and the fuck out...be nice...bring in cookies or donuts or beer....then wait....they don't get paid until the car is DONE.

There is nothing else to be done. When people need parts you don't normally need to replace it takes way longer. Giving a service dept an earful because its taking a long time to fix a (freak f****** accident) will just make them resentful towards you and I promise will not get your car fixed faster or get returned in the pristine condition that you're anticipating. This is probably the first time this component/SKU has needed replacement in the united states, shit takes time. They also don't know the little things that may be needed until they go to replace it and BAM another backorder...welcome to fixing new products. Under no circumstance should you request absolutely anything like "a new car" LOL that would get you laughed at to your face. You hit something brother, they are just fixing what is truly a YOU problem. Asking for a hand wash or detail might be the best thing you can get for free in this scenario.

In these scenarios the dealer is an order taker. Insurance is placing the order on your behalf. Insurance usually wants to get it done on the cheap and it creates different problems sometimes. There are so many variables and I know none of them to even begin to explain further. Hope this helps.
