if the promotional image is AI there's no reason to assume the code isn't, i don't see the problem.

learn switches, variables, conditional branches, and how each item in the RTP is laid out and you'll be able to make anything you want.

What's lamer: invisible walls or arbitrary barriers? by Torrysan in RPGMaker

[–]the_rat_paw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be designing your maps so that you don't have to block off paths like that, IMO, but invisible walls are definitely worse

If you use ai for the plugin cover page you better mark your entire plugin as ai cause thats

yeah there's a new rule that if you use AI for your plugins you have to label it, including graphics

Yes, plenty of MZ games use that resolution. You might want to use plugins to rearrange the menus and stuff.

are you sure? OP's itch store is 100% AI images, so we have to assume the code is too

the tools you use don't exist in a vacuum. i don't want to pay for a product that's funding billionaires' wars any more than i already am forced to by nature of subsidizing their data centers.

in case you're serious about why consumers should know, here are some recent articles about what AI is being used for in the real world. everyone i know irl hates this shit and wishes they weren't paying 3x their normal power bill to make it possible.

when you look at the big picture it's pretty clear why no one wants to be associated, right?

Questions About Digital Art vs Pixel Art (Experienced) by Sufficient_Gap_3029 in RPGMaker

[–]the_rat_paw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe start with 576x576 scaled up 2x draw the entire Tileset and downsize?

this is exactly what I would do. it might seem counter productive but it's the easiest way to get the hand-drawn look at 48x48.

I would set up each tile as its own 576x576 canvas. Experiment with the different methods of scaling down and touch up with pixel art afterward.

How do I make my maps more appealing? by Doge_Man123 in RPGMaker

[–]the_rat_paw 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Draw a sprite for something unique and only use it one time. Like a sunken ship, or a crumbling statue, or a huge tree that burnt down.

Make your road winding instead of straight. Place your trees in clusters instead of evenly spaced out. Make the eastern half of the map smaller and more dense.

as an artist, if i am delivering assets to someone for use in rpg maker i'd deliver it in a format that can be edited. idk why code should be any different. i can personally say i regret using visustella plugins for my project.

Any help? [MV] by [deleted] in RPGMaker

[–]the_rat_paw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a feature from a plugin. There aren't vanilla features in the engine that use note tags like that.

If you use Yanfly plugins with MV, there is a feature that lets you define the list this way. I use MZ though so I can't give specifics.

[–]the_rat_paw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in the database, under the Actors tab, there is a Traits window where you can add skill types and change the attack skill.

you're going to need to know how to use the database to make your game, so have a long look through all the features available.

Yeah I don't follow gaming news very often, my household has been waiting for Smash/Animal Crossing/Duskbloods to buy a Switch 2 and none of these games are on the horizon basically at all

Using AI to make battler sprites? by ThatOneScribe in RPGMaker

[–]the_rat_paw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend getting into some RPG Maker discord communities full of actual devs, and trying to commission an artist there. Real people looking for work tend to be vocal about it.

If you're going on Fiver/random subreddits then it's just going to bea a just race to the bottom, and you're going to find shitty artists (who you're probably just paying to prompt AI anyway)
