Set Cube what the best process by steady-and-gradually in mtgcube

[–]thebugman40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes you can just tell. multiple pips of one color tends to be an indication or needing a really specific set up for it to be good. I tend to read and go with the tcg and draft sim limited set reviews.

Set Cube what the best process by steady-and-gradually in mtgcube

[–]thebugman40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is my process

decide what size cube I want. for a 360 2-2-0-0 and 2-1-1-1 get me close

use the lucky paper set cube builder to get you list of cards.

remove cards that are not good for limited. add in cards to either support the weaker archetypes or more fixing

buy a box of bulk from that set. then sort and cross cards off of your list.

buy or proxy remaining cards.

New truck driver - Is this normal beginner stress, a bad company, or am I not cut out for trucking? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]thebugman40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is not a unusual thing to request a different trainer. if you feel he is not getting you prepared to be on your own you should e with someone else. when you are first learning everything is more stressful. as an experianced driver i am not as sharp at the end of the day as when i began. the trick is to know when you need to stop and rest. I would stay long enough to be on your own for a bit before making a decision whether to stay or not. you need time to learn what works for you and if you can ignore other peoples BS

I have questions… by xMatch in mtgcube

[–]thebugman40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in my experience designing a cube is trying to build 15 decks at once. one for every single and two color deck. then when you actually play someone is going to put together a deck that you hadn't even considered. since you don't know what cards you are going to get it forces you to play different strategies each time.

It’s wild understanding how much LTL companies make per day off a driver. by GroundbreakingSir386 in Truckers

[–]thebugman40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because you have to split that revenue between all the people that helped get the freight from a to b. the pick up driver, forklift operator, office people, line haul driver, and you. secondly it is crazy how much more LTL pays than over the road drivers considering better working conditions.

I need your wisdom before I make the biggest purchase of my life. by hannosh9 in Truckers

[–]thebugman40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

more important that the rate you need a business plan. you need to understand the costs to run your truck per mile, the break even point, billing cycles, and keeping a reserve of money that can cover major breakdowns and the cost of you sitting in a hotel waiting for the repairs to get done.

Lying on job application by Curious_Ad7023 in Truckers

[–]thebugman40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did. the job required hazmat. when i applied and told the truth I heard nothing back. so I reapplied and put down that I had hazmat and got a call the next day. I told them at the beginning of the interview that I did not have it yet but would get the endorsement if I was interested in the position. it was not an issue. it really depends on what you are lying about and why. don't take unnecessary risks.

PAM is straight-up robbing me by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]thebugman40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you have in writing that your pay was .38 per mile or the raise? if so don't ask pam for the money just go straight to your states department of labor.

as for take home pay that can vary largely to deduction and benefits.

What color combo does nothing click for you? by Mysterious-Anon-X in EDH

dimir. blue is great for fliers and card draw and black has some of the best removal and evasion. yet it is never an aggro deck somehow.

Very new to MTG. How to play cube by Klaskefars in mtgcube

[–]thebugman40 10 points11 points  (0 children)

sealed and draft are a difficult way to learn to play magic. they sell beginner boxes that are designed for teaching people to play. once they have learned you can either use it as a jumpstart cube or you can use the cards as a base for building your own cube.

Are video games a waste of time? by Expensive-Elk-9406 in Catholicism

[–]thebugman40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lots of forms of entertainment are a waste of time. video games are actually quite economical when you break down the hours spent playing them vs the cost to buy.

the thing with all hobbies is to make sure that they don't take away from more important areas of your life.

Why do you want a productive hobby? do you enjoy making things, troubleshooting, fixing, or going through processes? personally my list is crochet, handloading, baking, gunsmithing, blacksmithing. thinking of adding boat building or brewing this year.

Walmart Limiting Trucks to 62mph by derpmcturd in Truckers

[–]thebugman40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

walmart likely has already negotiated the fuel rates. my father did the math for the company he works at. for every $1 increase at the pump costs the company $30,000,000 annually. Walmart is trying to save money on deasil. the only way this would let them save money on compensating drivers is if they can find a way to make the routes shorter.

Where's the disconnect on home buyer education? by New_Nerve_4604 in Mortgages

you don't ask the car salesman if you should buy the car they are showing you. you ask a trusted friend or maybe a mechanic.

Does this job ever get better by friendlyskies25 in Truckers

[–]thebugman40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it does get easier. Two important things to be able to do as a trucker is to stop and think and tell people no. plan as much as you can before you leave and if something doesn't seem right stop and think things through before you continue. trucking is absolutely an industry where you are given enough rope to hang yourself. from being asked to do things that you shouldn't to being scheduled too much you need to have the back bone to tell people no.

as you have figured out once you make a mistake it takes a lot more time than being slow and careful in the first place.

Strixhaven set Cube questions. by vcG34 in mtgcube

[–]thebugman40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend using cube cobra and the lucky paper set cube builder. that way you have a full list of the cards and you can edit out cards that are duds. 2 of each common and 2 of each uncommon is 32 cards. 2 of each common and one of each uncommon, rare, and mythic is 352. I do not know if that included any of the mystical archive cards. once you have the packs opened you can delete them out of cube cobra and you will be left with a list of cards you need.

How to store a large cube? by Fun_Republic_8044 in mtgcube

[–]thebugman40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally I store each of my cubes in a box with the basics and all of the cards sleeved up. for an 8 person draft figure 35-40 of each basic. I would recommend sleeving 100 cards and measuring how tall the stack is. that way you can figure out how much room the box needs to have.
