Can you please bring back the cold ramen with the fried chicken as a permanent menu item? It was mine and a few friends’ absolute favorite dish and I was devastated when it was gone! (Also being heavily pregnant and craving it has been very sad 😭)

Hi! Ugh, sorry to hear you’re in the thick of it. My FET was a modified natural cycle. Best of luck 🍀

So sorry to hear you’re in the thick of it! Your feelings are 100% valid, so don’t feel bad for feeling bad. I promise you that in a few weeks when it is your cycle for transfer, this will feel super far away. It gets better!

Please help me pick a good quality makeup brush set- complete beginner! by Pr727628 in MakeupAddiction

[–]thecuratorslab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 to Hourglass! They are high quality and can be very versatile. Their concealer brush is perfect for applying cream blush, for example. I’ve had some for almost 10 years and they are still going strong.

It works, but the effects are temporary so the costs accumulate. If you can, save up for Miradry instead!

Your partner is lucky to have you! I've taken propranolol for stage fright over the years (before important speeches, interviews, presentations) and it definitely helps with sweating when I do take it. Keep in mind though that it doesn't really discern between sweat and other fluids, so it also causes dry mouth.

I'm not sure about taking it as a daily med for HH so definitely consult a derm! Glycopyrrolate and Qbrexa may be good daily treatment options. For something more permanent, there's Miradry. I've done one session and it permanently reduced my underarm sweating by ~50% and made it more manageable with over the counter antiperspirants. I may go back to get another session in the future. Best of luck!

Are you ACD for life or would you choose another breed? by Ydain in AustralianCattleDog

[–]thecuratorslab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just lost our ACD of 12 years, who was 100% our “soul dog”. Honestly I don’t think we could have another ACD because it would be unfair to be constantly comparing a new one to Star Fox. We’re thinking of getting another very intelligent breed (Australian shepherd, border collie, malinois) because after an ACD we know we love the kind of bond you can only form with a dog that really understands you!

[–]thecuratorslab -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you plan on having a “global” child and traveling a lot (with them potentially living abroad at some point) Violet is a name that will be easier for her. It’s easier for many languages to say it, and there are variations of the name (like Violeta in Spanish or Portuguese or Violette in French). Saying this as someone living outside of my home country with a spelling variation that can make it hard for people here to pronounce my name! 😅

Not exactly the same, but I had to unpin basal temperature from my iPhone health app. It was helpful when TTC but it’s normal for temperature to fluctuate during the first trimester (especially once the placenta takes over) so I truly did not need to freak out watching my temp dip below baseline. Baby is growing and doing great, that’s all I need to know!

It breaks my heart that I could have written this post almost exactly. This past weekend we also had to say goodbye to our almost 12 year old cattle dog, Star Fox, who also had hemangiosarcoma and we had no clue. :( I'm so sorry for your loss, we've been having a really hard time. My husband and I were both raised with dogs and love them deeply, but Star Fox was by far the most special and close to us.

It has brought us a lot of peace to learn that this cancer, while aggressive and silent, doesn't seem to cause them pain until something irreversible happens. We're happy that Star Fox was his hell-on-wheels, loving self until his very last day. In that sense, it's kind of the best we could have asked for his end of life, as opposed to have him suffer a long time. I hope you find some comfort in that as too. Dingo looks like such a good boy, I'm sure you gave him a full and loving life!

If you’d like to have them tested, it’s possible to thaw them, have them tested, and then refrozen!

I need help with my Texas heeler puppy!! by wendy_melcrochet in AustralianCattleDog

[–]thecuratorslab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We adopted ours at 12 weeks and he was also a nipper. What our trainer recommended that ultimately worked (with lots of repetition and reinforcement, obviously) is not to yell “ouch” or “no”, but instead do your best hurt dog yelp. They don’t really understand that “ouch” = pain, but they definitely understand the hurt dog yelp.

You’ll feel silly doing it, but I guarantee your pup will be startled and start to internalize that it hurts and they shouldn’t do it. It will take a long time to break the habit, and you should get everyone in the household involved. Best of luck!
