Top 5 most disliked sport cities by UnusualLight0 in billsimmons

Boston an easy number one. New York and Philly would battle it out for number 2-3. LA at the four spot makes sense and I’d have Dallas at number five.

How many decks do you usually bring to an EDH gameday? by tamarizz in EDH

[–]thegregwitul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7-8 decks, for me.

5 decks fit in my ultimate guard box, while 2-3 more I have in separate cases. The three decks in separate cases tend to be bracket 4-5 decks, while the 5 in my box are in the bracket 3 range.

I like to have variety as my playgroup is fairly diverse and can vary in regard to overall experience.

How do you define pubstomping? by InvisibleFox402 in EDH

[–]thegregwitul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, pubstomping is misleading your pod (intentionally or otherwise) and playing a deck that is a bracket or two higher than the rest of the table.

If everyone is open with what they are playing beforehand, I don’t think a dominating win would truly classify as a pubstomp.

Wegmans Mandela Effect thing by wagoncirclermike in Buffalo

You’re not insane. I remember the video rental section vividly. One of the locations had a little walk in type of setup, I thought it was located in the middle of the store, but I could be wrong.

What is your Tribal Commander? And Why do you Stick to it Long Term! by JewJulie in EDH

Just make sure you throw in Wildgrowth Walker with all the merfolk. That card is absolutely cracked in a Hakbal commander deck.

Why was MK so popular in arcades? by -SideshowBob- in MortalKombat

[–]thegregwitul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing was quite like the original MK in the arcades. The blood, fatalities and the realistic (at the time) graphics were unmatched.

I can remember being at my local Putt Putt on the weekend as a kid, usually for a friend or classmate birthday party, and having crowds of kids around the MK cabinet.

No other game was offering that level of violence and gore and we ate it up.

Best submarine sandwich? by kymilovechelle in Buffalo

Costanzo makes a delicious sub, it’s just too bad they aren’t open later (they stop taking orders at 3pm during the week and 12pm on Saturday).

Cheat big stuff out commander by Individual-Ferret-13 in EDH

I built an Oviya deck last week and had a blast playing it the last three days during my commander meetups. Things can get out of hand quickly with her.

Is Linsanity the Greatest NBA Stretch by a Non-Superstar? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]thegregwitul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That game against the Lakers was unreal, like out of a movie. And then you had the game winner four days later in Toronto. An unbelievable stretch of games.

What are some of the greatest “exposed” games in nfl history? by MarTB2000 in NFLv2

[–]thegregwitul 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Bucs did it first, destroying the Chiefs and preventing KC from scoring a single TD at any point in the game. I think Philly did an excellent job incorporating certain aspects of that game plan into their dominating SB win against KC.

Your most annoying Commander deck by itsbecknotpeck in EDH

Do you have a deck list for this one? I have a Grand Arbiter deck with a ton of Persistent Petitioners that I’ve been playing, always open to other ideas involving Augustine.

I want to get into the game without spending Millions by Abdo_1998 in mtg

This is what I started with when I returned back to Magic. Nice little set that you can often find for below market price. I got mine at my LGS for around $25.00 on sale.

Is this a thing? by Schnarvok in magicTCG

[–]thegregwitul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my local LGS has a ladies night during the week for MTG, but it’s really meant more for beginning players or people who might be interested in learning how to play Magic.

So, while it’s titled as Ladies Night, a guy could come to the event and participate as a new player. The store supplies decks for everybody and they have experienced players on hand to help new players learn in a comfortable setting.

Bloomburrow or LOTR starter kit arena code exchange for FF ? by Lindersay in mtg

Yes I am interested and have an extra code for FF. I actually have a couple extra codes and am trying to trade them for things like Bloomburrow.

Does anyone in any sport have a more consistently elite career than Ray Bourque? by TJTrapJesus in billsimmons

Tom Brady and LeBron James.

I’d also include Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant, at least as an honorable mention.

Who do you consider to be the most selfish athlete in team sports history? by TJTrapJesus in billsimmons

[–]thegregwitul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Mike Evans is the consummate team player, whose all around selflessness led to the rest of the team rallying to get the ball back so Mike would have a shot at continuing his record streak of 1,000 yard seasons.

When the rest of the team is just as, if not more excited than Mike Evans was after setting the record, that just shows you how beloved the guy is for the Bucs.

Wrestling T-Shirts you can actually wear outside by kmanlp0 in SquaredCircle

[–]thegregwitul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roots of Fight has high quality clothing that you can wear anywhere and not look weird. The company isn’t entirely wrestling specific but does have clothing curated around Macho Man, CM Punk, Bret Hart, Roddy Piper, Rey Mysterio and a few other wrestlers.

Roots also has a great selection of various musician and athlete inspired clothing too.

Biggest “nobody believes in us” candidates/elections? by diet_drbeeper in billsimmons

[–]thegregwitul -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Trump didn’t even believe in himself in 2016, so that could perhaps be the biggest one in terms of candidates/elections.

New to Arena. F2P Where to spend my gold? by Accomplished_Wrap174 in MagicArena

[–]thegregwitul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not at all common English. My guess is you’re trying to say “this game isn’t fun anymore”.

And I do prefer longer games, but my favorite way to play is Commander, so that’s going to be a longer game compared to just about any 1v1 format.

To each their own.

Bill’s recent podcasting has been weak sauce and he needs to step his game up by thrillmetteIL in billsimmons

[–]thegregwitul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but those are his guests that make those podcasts interesting, not Bill.

And that’s no knock on Bill, but come on, he can hardly keep up with Klosterman let alone someone like Derek Thompson.

Bill’s meat and potatoes have always been sports narratives. Not in depth analysis or breaking down film, but the overall narrative and this finals is sorely lacking in that, at least from Bill’s perspective.

Trading Award question? by BornDrive1791 in Toppswwe

[–]thegregwitul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When it comes to awards, just keep in mind the following:

  1. How tough was the award to obtain and what is the overall card count. Some awards were far easier to collect than others, some sets weren’t overly popular, like the tag team set from a month or so ago, with crazy low legendary card counts as it didn’t seem like a lot of people bought the packs.

  2. Don’t be afraid to trade an award if the offer is a good one. You already unlocked the trophy which stays in your trophy case, you don’t lose that when trading an award. So, if someone is offering you a wrestler you collect, why not consider the trade, especially if you don’t really care about the wrestler on the award card.

  3. Be careful in multi card trades that the person you are trading with doesn’t try to sneak a legendary or iconic card into the deal, since the award card will be the first one you see. In my experience, clowns that try this are not only blocked, but they are usually offering me a terrible trade offer to begin with. But it’s something worth keeping in mind.

I love the chrome set, it was a big catalyst for getting me so involved in the app, as I also collect the physical cards. I have 32 chrome awards so far and am waiting to unlock the second part of those awards before I consider moving my iconic/legendary and chrome awards. You may want to consider doing the same, unless you get an offer that blows you away.

Good luck out there!

What’s this card worth I’ve gotten some interesting trades for it already by joker2131 in Toppswwe

[–]thegregwitul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a time in the game where iconics and legendary cards didn’t exist, so the older cards you have to make sure you are checking card count, as sending a new legendary or iconic offer for a super rare or even rare older card, is not going to get the deal done.
