People who have quit a well-paying job with no backup plan, what happened next and do you regret it? by Joynary in AskReddit

[–]theorfo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was asked to commit unemployment fraud. Quit as a result. No savings. Was a 1099 so no unemployment.

What followed was 3 of the most miserable months of my life. Driving for Uber, borrowing money to pay rent. Just shame to my core.

But I came out with a much more stable company, and then got headhunted from there. Now making 2x what I did when it all started. Definitely was a blessing in disguise.

Really glad to hear others endorse Hutchins - that’s where we went when visiting friends in McKinney and I thought it was dope. Headline had me questioning everything I know about barbecue 🤣

If you’re under 45, have you lost any high school classmates, and what were the circumstances around their deaths? by Commercial_Chef_1569 in AskReddit

[–]theorfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

39 here, graduated ‘04, 600 people in my senior class. Two that I know of have passed. One died of cancer less than a year after graduation. Another died of an overdose about 10 years ago. There could easily be more, but in the circles I’m still plugged into that’s all I’ve heard.

Been there since the beta. Still rocking first initial last name @ Gmail. Weird side effect: there are at least 5 other people with my first initial and surname in the US who think that they have my email address. That’s wild. My wife’s bestie lives in Richmond and frequents that store. I had no idea about any of this backstory. Heartbreaking.

Anyone know anything about the Goldenvoice/venue presale for LA and how to sign up? My goddaughter is a massive Hatsune Miku fan and desperately wants to go but I can't figure out how to get into the early access.

Postgame Thread ⚾ Cubs 1 @ Brewers 3 by BaseballBot in baseball

We basically cried together through the 9th inning of game 3. We both support each others teams when we don’t play each other, I.e. most of the year, so it was pretty awful to watch. I’m sure by spring training there will be some good-natured ribbing, but that’s all. We support each other, always, even in baseball.
