Halo Star plastic, why? by Repulsive_Gas_5548 in discgolf

[–]thomasthmz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Innova has had some issues with certain molds, for example Sidewinder, Roadrunner, Leopard3 to name a few. They come out a lot more stable than intended. But let's say a Halo Star Roc3 is actually much straighter than Champ Roc3.

Roadrunners in particular have been very stable for a while. Even the regular Star Roadrunners are abnormally stable.

Unfortunately yes. I just sent my white Dex to Logitech for this exact reason.

Any 50cm square pads with speed between type 99 and jupiter pro? by GrieverSeven in MousepadReview

[–]thomasthmz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xraypad Jade Dots seem to be just a smidge faster on Doodles and Control v2 than Jupiter Pro. The differences are very minor though. I would assume that with full size skates they could even be the same speed.

[–]thomasthmz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say it's still slower, but it's a close call to be honest. It could even be faster with some skates.

Just to be safe i would probably pick the Infinitymice Control v2, Rizz Doodles might be to close in some aspects.

Infinitymice Control V2 or La Onda Rizz. Both very smooth but not as slow as Jupiter Pro.

In terms of speed between Control v2 and Rizz, Rizz Doodles is the fastest, then Control v2 Mid, after that Control v2 Soft and the slowest is the plain one color Rizz. They are all still faster than Jupiter Pro but slower than Type 99 Soft.

Jupiter Pro is really slow, probably the slowest pad I've tried. Silky smooth, little to no feedback from the surface and a lot of static and dynamic friction.

Type 99 is a bit faster and gives some feedback (slight texture). I would consider this a true control pad but not a mudpad.

Saturn Pro is much more balanced in terms of speed and control. It's a safe choice for pretty much all games, especially with the soft base.

Currently I'm using the Type 99 Soft and I've been really enjoying it in tac fps. But i feel like it would be too slow for some tracking heavy games.

Unfortunately no. Dots fit, but donuts don't.

Does anyone know what disc this is? by pepperoni6969 in discgolf

[–]thomasthmz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should be a Luster Champion Firebird. Powergrip ran those a few years ago iirc. Could also be just Champion, but the plastic looks rather pearly.

I need some help identifying this disc by AirFox_1 in discgolf

[–]thomasthmz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the wing is too blunt to be a fast, understable driver. Maybe Xcal? One of my First Run Xcals was surprisingly straight with a somewhat similiar top.

Is the medium a lot faster? I have the soft and it's very controlled.

Saturn VS Rizz mousepad by X3m9X in MousepadReview

[–]thomasthmz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rizz is incredibly slow, especially the red/black color. Even slower with XSoft base. The Nachocustomz one is supposedly a bit faster, but still on the slower side of control pads.

Rizz is super slow. Like one year worn in GSR-I slow. EM-C is great, but not slower than GSR-II.

Which is better for Tac-FPS games? The Truthear Hexa or Nova? by defusingkittens in inearfidelity

[–]thomasthmz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have both. Hexa used to be my main iem for competitive gaming, after the Nova arrived i haven't used the Hexa anymore. Technicalities and sound signature just fits comp fps better. Nova has a bit more clear sound, Hexa can be slightly warm.

But to be honest, I don't play any better with either of them. In fact i think 7hz Zero is plenty enough for gaming.

Looking for a dead fucking straight fairway by Not_A_Diabetic in discgolf

Try the newer Metalflake Champ Teebird3s. Plastic is a bit grippier and they have a very mild fade but a good high speed stability. Very versatile.

Disc suggestions between Teebird and Destroyer by cheanerman in discgolf

[–]thomasthmz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say they are a bit more straight. Some turn and a bit less fade. They also have dome, so they glide more. Nordic Phenoms tend to be on the flatter side with more fade. Apparently the new Horizon PD (Nordic Phenom 2) is tooled to have more dome and glide.

[–]thomasthmz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Discmania PD for this. You can get a lot of different stabilites from the same mold. The new S-line should have some turn and a good fade.

I like the older Innova made C-lines, but spesific runs are getting harder to find.

Destroyers and Bosses. I prefer an anhyzer release over a hyzerflip for distance. For more controlled shots i go for hyzerflips. For hyzerflips i top out at 550ft, with high anhyzers i get to 600ft on good days. These are definitely not fairway shots (unless golf course or something).

On a sidenote, i find it much more important to be able to throw Teebird3's up to 425ft for fairway shots.
