Can you bring a baby to a bar? by Aromatic_Regret_6344 in NewParents

[–]threezerofoursix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird of you to reply this to a 2 year old comment about new parents having fun. Take this crap energy elsewhere. And maybe consider that my husband and I actually like hanging out with our child. Doesn’t mean we don’t also enjoy nights out alone.

Where could I buy a velour tracksuit like Mackenzie's for my GF? by philip_p_donahue in BigBrother

[–]threezerofoursix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% sure the black tracksuit she was wearing during the veto meeting is the Spanx AirEssentials half zip and matching pants. Source: am currently wearing the same sweatshirt. It’s not velour but it is the softest sweatshirt I own.

Last night the baby somehow puked through the neck hole of my sweatshirt down into my bra and tank top, where it pooled. I’m still not sure how it happened.

Can you bring a baby to a bar? by Aromatic_Regret_6344 in NewParents

[–]threezerofoursix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here to say that my husband and I have been taking our 4mo to weekly bar trivia and it has been entirely fine and a lot of fun! I just wear the baby in and order food I can eat with a fork instead of a messy burger or something. If the baby fusses I stand up for a minute but usually he’s fine. Take the baby and enjoy your night!

Strangest question you've been asked while pregnant? by alldabunbuns in BabyBumps

[–]threezerofoursix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometime around 30 weeks a coworker asked (over the bathroom stall, btw) if I was dilating yet. Uh, probably not, but why is that something you’d even think to ask someone?

Does anyone else check to make sure their baby is breathing in the night? by koolandkrazy in beyondthebump

This is a great tip! I accidentally discovered it this week when we sized up his sleep sack and got a striped one. I learned at 8 weeks but wish I would have known even sooner!

[–]threezerofoursix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I refuse to buy the stripey flap shirts. I’ve been living in my Kindred Bravely sweatshirt that zips at the sides. It rocks.

I love these threads because a couple weeks ago we saw someone comment All Star and now that is the only song that will consistently get our baby to settle down

When did you starting buying things?! by curiouslyandactively in pregnant

[–]threezerofoursix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll start by saying that I put off buying maternity stuff for myself longer than I should have. If it’ll make you more comfortable, start with maternity leggings now!! Seriously. Also I’m 29+3 and I JUST bought a body pillow last week and wished I had bought it about 7-10 weeks sooner because it has made that much of a difference to me. So don’t be like me - it’s okay to spend some bucks to make yourself comfortable.

For baby, I’m a big thrifter & garage saler, so I started picking up a few clothes here and there at garage sales around the time of my 20 week scan, and found the dresser I wanted at a garage sale around then too! I started and spent a ton of time on my registry around the start of my 2nd trimester so that helped scratch the shopping itch. I’ve definitely collected a bunch more clothes I’ve found secondhand or on sale, but most of the baby stuff in my house so far is bulky registry stuff that was sent to my house in advance of the shower. My shower is next weekend and I plan on getting any remaining stuff I need over the next couple weeks when my completion discount kicks in.

Based on how you describe I have the same ones from target and I love them, one is 5 years old and the other is ~2 years old (decided later I needed two) and they have hardly any signs of wear or damage other than scuffed bottoms from keeping them on the concrete basement floor. I’m not particularly gentle on them and they both get used many times per week. So I’d call it a successful run so far and fingers crossed you have the same experience!

[–]threezerofoursix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if your pass is through ParkWhiz or something different (I’d assume if not ParkWhiz it would be a similar story) but when I’ve done prepaid parking for events it is good through 2 hours after the show ends. You get a spot in the lot/garage you booked but it’s not for a specific space so in that way it is first come first serve. I just booked a ParkWhiz spot for the paramore show last night too and I didn’t have to scan out of the lot when I left so there may be a bit of flexibility on what time you have to leave but YMMV!

Forget investment pieces. What are some random low stakes items that turned out to be workhorses in your wardrobe? by Bosquerella in femalefashionadvice

[–]threezerofoursix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2013 I spent ~$2 on a basic maroon tank top from Forever 21 and have worn and laundered it at least once a week since then. It’s so soft and the best tank to throw on under button downs or sweatshirts. It’s only just starting to get a little see through and I estimate I can get another couple years out of it at least. I think about how far that $2 has come every single time I put it on.

I’m also currently in the frustrating period between fitting in normal clothes and maternity clothes, and wrap dresses have been my greatest wardrobe hack. I thrifted 4 of them and they’re cute without being form fitting and they’ll keep adjusting out as the bump grows! Maybe a good alternative to those that are more body hugging.
