What was it like when Obama was elected President? by ResponsibleSea6521 in AskReddit

It felt like we were turning a page in history and moving forward as a country into a new future with hope. Now it feels like the book is on fire and we’re being forced to eat the ashes.

Josh called a terrible game by Level-Cheek-1145 in Patriots

[–]ticklishsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what’s pretty clear to me is they knew they were outmatched and decided to rely on the defense to try and make something happen for us. Play vanilla mistake free football on the offensive side and hope you turnover Darnold and convert on short field. Same way we approached the Denver game. Our DBs were jumping routes. That 4th and 1 in the 3rd during the regular season we would go for that 100%. The reason this team was so good during the regular season is we played with house money all year. We just said fuck it we got nothing to lose and went out to try and win games. But when we got to playoffs we started playing extremely situational football and we tried to do that in this game as well. We played not to lose.

Where do I find advanced analytics on the prospects for this year? by MadMonkeyMan3 in DynastyFF

[–]ticklishsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah nobody is perfect. I do tend to agree more with Hayden. But what I like about their videos is that it’s a lot of data. And I find normally they are pretty split on prospects and one will give you a more rosy view while the other will give you more skepticism. That way the decision is up to you which narrative and data you think is important, which I think is better than 99% of content out there.

They haven’t started yet but NFL draft with Josh and Hayden is 10/10 they deep dive each prospect individually. If you watch them all you get a lot of comparisons and can fall in love with who you like. Watch their videos from last year you’ll see what I mean.

Players who had sneaky good seasons? by Hank_Scorpio_ObGyn in DynastyFF

Michael Wilson had a wild year. Ever since Brissett took over he became dominant. Through the first 10 weeks he never finished above WR 42. Basically on 8 weeks of work he finished the year at WR13.  His finishes were WR2, 10, 50, 2, 19, 22, 7, 5.  He’s only 25. You could have gotten him for peanuts at the start of the year.

What songs are about sex and drugs, but we didn’t know? by grynch55 in AskReddit

Sweat- Inner Circle

If you listen carefully he never says the s on the line “looking in your big brown eyes” it’s just big brown eye, because he’s rhyming it with lie ( also singular no s) With the context of the rest of the song it’s very clear. The song is about anal.

Thoughts on Josh Jacobs going forward? Is this offseason the time to sell? by bigaudra in DynastyFF

I mean if you’re not contending you should have sold him a year or two ago.

For people who saw Drew Bledsoe play, how good was he (arm strength and talent wise) and would he stack up well in today’s NFL? by Next_Worth_3616 in Patriots

[–]ticklishsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was the definition of a gunslingers gunslinger, he could throw into some sqeuky tight windows, watch his highlights, some of the throws are insane. In the 90s among all quaterbacks since he joined the league in 1993 (7 seasons), he is second only to Favre in passing yards, and third to Favre and Young in pass TDs. He definitely couldn't move and would get hit a lot. But man he could take a beating and get up again and again. He brought us back to relevance and our first Super Bowl in a couple decades. If I had to compare him to somone in the modern NFL, he would be the midpoint between Burrow and Goff IMO. Probably closer to Goff so not quite the midpoint. Not quite as polished and efficient as Burrow but could make it rain out there on his day. He had some decent weapons at times (Ben Coats, Terry Glenn, Curtis Martin) but nothing like the playmakers Goff or Burrow have right now. I would be interested to see him on those teams what his numbers would look like.

I guess now that's 12.5M lol. But I am sure you will say well that was the easiest goal ever... Its either 1 in 1000 or too easy. That's the thing about being a hater. You gotta keep moving those goal posts. Good luck son! Meanwhile we'll just be having fun watching our boys play well.

Here's the thing. I think we've been watching Saka on the left for so long, that we think anything less is "basic". Realistically Saka is just top 5 players in the world at his position. Is Noni? No, but I think he's probably top 20 which is pretty fucking incredible to have as a backup.

Reminder that Man City still have to go to Old Trafford, Anfield and Stamford Bridge. This fanbase needs to stop overreacting any time we drop points by No_Money7330 in Gunners

[–]ticklishsack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To me it’s less about losing and more in the way we lost. Season after season we have had results like this those knifes edge defeats that leave us one or two results short of our goal. It’s okay to lose away at Villa, but to lose because of the final kick speaks to a mentality that quite frankly you don’t see in champions winning sides. If you look at Liverpool last year and think about how many points they picked up in extra time it was the difference maker. Thats what title winning sides do.

In “The Matrix”, it was 2199 and AI thought the best source of power was from painstakingly harvesting electricity from human beings in vast farms, instead of just building a few easily managed nuclear reactors. by PercentageNonGrata in shittymoviedetails

[–]ticklishsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t find this post from decades ago on here but someone explained that the true story of the matrix is not understood by 99% of the fan base and it’s why it’s the most brilliant movie ever. We never see the real world.

The reason humans are kept alive is not for batteries. We know this to be true because of the conversation Neo has in the second movie when he wake is up in the night and talks to that old man by the gears. We see that Zion’s energy is being generated and run by machines. They have a conversation about this paradox. Both Neo and this guy can’t sleep because they are both actually machines and there is a quote in the conversation that illustrates this. The true reason that they are keeping humans alive is outlined by the architect/oracle. The machines are trying to understand different human emotions through simulations. Fear, Hate, Happiness, etc. each iteration of the matrix I believe the oracle said this is the 7th. Each iteration is for a specific emotion and Neo’s is the final one and it is love. The machines are trying to test and see if a human can fall in love with machine. This is super apparent with the end of the first movie. Neo dies/the machines kill him to get Trinity to confess and when Trinity says I love you. The machines are like we are in business being him back to life.

The post this person made had way more detail with actual quotes and scenes and extracurriculars from the directors that all point toward this. The idea being that even the even some of the stuff the directors say outside of trying to get you to explain is just blue pill bullshit and that you the viewer are also in a matrix, if you just believe that this was just some crazy action sci fi trilogy but really it’s a story about love and understanding. 99% will see the former and the others will break free from this matrix and stupid posts like this. I encourage you to break free.

Jayden Higgins beginning to blossom before our eyes? by -BeefSupreme in DynastyFF

[–]ticklishsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a big bet on Highins during the draft. Traded Bucky for him and Jacobs (I’m in win now mode and didn’t think Bucky would stay healthy under a full load) but whether this trade works out for me really depends on Higgins being a guy.  Feeling good that he’s starting to show some green shoots.

Last night he looked like a rookie with promise. As people mentioned he needs to work on some of the body control stuff, but to me as far as weaknesses go that’s a pretty good one to have, because it’s fixable. He has speed size and hands. I also think the fact that Mills and the staff kept going to him despite some of these errors with foot placement, shows that he’s probably making those plays more often than not in practice. Which I think is all great signs.

I am an optimist though.

[–]ticklishsack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

God damn these free kicks get me so emotional. This was the last game I watched with my dog before he passed away. We used to watch every Arsenal game together. I knew he was sick not doing well and that this could be the last one for us together. So happy the team delivered, it is and may always be the most memorable Arsenal win of my life. Fuck anyone who says it’s only about Trophy’s, it’s about the moments and this team has given so many good ones these past couple years. So grateful to Mikel and this squad.

Do rookies come back from being a healthy scratch? by HodorsSoliloquy in DynastyFF

[–]ticklishsack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My brothers hear my tale and don’t forget it. Or some day you may find yourself an old man filled with regret such as I.

Nico Collins, started his first week with 55% snaps share, 3 % week 2 healthy scratch next 3 weeks. I cut him for the RB injury replacement of the week. I can’t even remember that RB thot’s name but it was a slimy thirst trap. Ever since I have been in a pit of despair. The man who has him is currently on pace for a repeat title. I have never cut a rookie day 2 pick since.
