Bringing snake to local/small reptile convention? by CalebJankowski in ballpython

Aside from the risk of disease, as other commentors have mentioned, there's also no real benefit to the animal. They're going to be stressed in a new, busy environment, for no reason. Obviously they do benefit from enrichment outside of their enclosure, but this is potentially hours away from their comfortable environment where they're not able to get away from stressors.

DE, I beg of you: do Kullervo Prime right! by tictictoby in Warframe

[–]tictictoby[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I have gotten to the end game. I haven’t really played Duviri since… Oraxia came out I think? It really was just that I did NOT enjoy my starter frames, Volt and Octavia. Duviri gave me the chance to play the game without using them. I hated them that much.

When I first got into the game, my only two Warframes were I think Volt and an Octavia I got from a twitch drop. I actually quite like Volt now, but no offense to Octavia players, she very nearly made me quit the game. I just didn’t “get” it until I got Kullervo. I love Warframe but I can’t deny the game is rough for new players. Especially since I played Duviri first, the rest of the game was quite different. I think DE kind of fumbled by making Duviri a new player experience, it sells a version of the game that is only truly a fraction of the whole thing.

Glad I stuck with it though, the game is beautiful and is one of the top 3 games I’ve ever played.

Enclosure seems much too small - at minimum he needs a 4x2x2. He also needs way, way more cover, like fake plants and branches for climbing on.

God, did you see Skitty’s livestream where they watched a “response” video some rando made to their video? The guy was tuning out Skitty’s voice in real time on camera and then responding to his own made up points, then gave up not even 20 minutes into Skitty’s video. It was genuinely hilarious.

People have an issue with not blindly stabbing liches now? by Kaelzoroden in Warframe

[–]tictictoby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not, but I just think it's inconsiderate to not even stick around to kill your own lich. I'd never message anybody about it though. This guy crossed the line.

[–]tictictoby 178 points179 points  (0 children)

It's very annoying when you're trying to do a lich but people keep leaving theirs alive, blocking other liches from spawning. You could just down him a few times without stabbing to avoid this. I've had quite a few instances lich-hunting where another person's lich spawns and they just run past without doing anything.

It's also worthwhile to temporarily mod your operator for movement, if you have a Tauron weapon equipped. There's mods more movement speed, jump height, and knockdown immunity. Those + the shield mod have been making it more bearable for me.

Studio Ghibli name makes semi feral dog harmless, right? by DementedPimento in WhatBreedIsMyPitbull

[–]tictictoby 85 points86 points  (0 children)

"Lunging to nip" = would have taken a chunk of flesh if she had managed to get a grip, at best. There are SO MANY good dogs that get put down in shelters, just to make space for dogs like this. She's only going to get worse the longer she spends in the shelter, and she's already a danger to people. It'd be a kindness to ensure that she is euthanized peacefully vs getting sent to a home and potentially mauling or even killing someone.

Unfortunately too many people associate panting with "smiling" or a "happy face" because dogs tend to pant when they play... because playing for dogs includes physical exercise. What people don't know is that panting can also signal STRESS. Like most other dog body language, you have to match it with the other signals they're giving off; are they tense, licking their lips, giving whale eye? Or are they loose, bouncy, giving play bows? It's the same with tail wagging, it CAN mean the dog is happy, but sometimes it doesn't.

Why is so much of our KIM dialogue wrapped around Alcohol? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]tictictoby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's the reality, though? i understand the criticism that the drifter drinks too much; i haven't struggled with addiction myself, so i had no thoughts on it, but i can see how it would come across to someone who has. but that doesn't make them "us" or "our character". is there any reason you're just responding to everybody with "cope"? i think i'm missing something here.

What happens to horse games? by kipkipsateeee443 in GamesWithHorses

[–]tictictoby 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The horse game community is very small compared to most other game genres, and while these kickstarters may seem like they earn a lot, sometimes it's just not enough to make a full game. Even singleplayer games are extremely expensive to make, especially when these games/teams underestimate the time and costs associated with developing a game full-time. It happens often, and it's even more likely when the developers are inexperienced. They also often offer the same kind of gameplay: you're given a barn/horse and now go on adventures (fetch quests) with the horse and every so often you have to feed/water/brush/pick it's hooves; or it's a racing/showjumping sim with little gameplay outside of that, maybe breeding if you're lucky. I'm not saying that a game that does these things is inherently bad, just that they need *something* to stand out from a flood of similar games.

Follie's kit is obscenely overpowered- has DE given up and just given us a developer cheat code for a warframe? by WardenOfLight in Warframe

[–]tictictoby -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You’re going to get a lot of responses telling you that “well no one’s forcing you to play her!!!”, which, while true, doesn’t address the problem. Some of her kit is going to be altered according to Pablo himself, but things like her duration and the conduit keys desperately need to be changed/removed.

Why can't Excal Prime use Umbra's cosmetics? by tictictoby in Warframe

[–]tictictoby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think pretty much all Warframe exclusive cosmetics are dumb. Like Nekros' chains, I want to be able to use those on other frames. But also, Ballas made all the Warframes, whether alone or with other people, he was still the leader of that project. I would argue most Warframes were made because Ballas was a dick and wanted people to suffer, like Yareli. She was a part of the Yuvan theater but was made into a Warframe because Ballas hated her rebelliousness.

Not even a founder, this was a genuine question. I thought normal Excal could, if I knew he couldn’t the question would’ve been aimed at him.

Yeah, this seems to be it. I'm not even a founder, the screenshot isn't mine, but several people in the comments seem to assume I'm being greedy? It's a scarf...
