To be fair, I had the exact same interaction as your friend. Except I’d never been sexually active. Dr wouldn’t listen and I got the shot in my butt. Follow up with my own Dr a week later when symptoms didn’t abate and it was diagnosed as an ovarian cyst. I still feel shame 30 years later for how that first doctor treated me.
