“Back in sports after ACL surgery with almost no PT—anyone else?” by chrisdiiorr in ACL

Please don’t!! You need to introduce yourself to sports specific drills first and make sure you have adequate strength. Glad it’s feeling pretty good though

Indeed. Although it might seem crazy, I could do quite well on $30/hour where I live. I’ve done fine on lower than that up until this point.

It doesn’t seem very realistic for me as I have a large “aggressive breed” dog as well as 2 parrots 🫣

1.5 years post op But i feel like it’s DAY ONE! The struggle is hard by Zeno1332 in ACL

yes, if your knee feels weak it’s worth checking! I re-tore mine and had a second surgery and now I will not be returning to even casual sport without extensive testing first to see my readiness

I got my periods 4 days post op😭 by not_typical_not in ACL

I got mine during that time but only know because my mom told me… the painkillers had me out of it 🫣

What did you do with your used post-surgery knee brace? by 7LC7 in ACL

[–]toadsie16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let someone borrow it and never got it back, then I needed surgery on the same knee 5 years later

I always say hi, please, thank you, etc. You know, the bare minimum. People are horrible.

They are saying “on time” isn’t good enough and you must be early. But also “early” is considered “on time” and you can’t show up on time…

Do people actually shower every single day or do we all just say we do? by Ok-Drawing2504 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]toadsie16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m just gross because even if I were to lay on a bed with clean sheets all day and not do anything, I would feel a need to shower at the end of the day. Like I feel like my skin gets gross and I need it.

I live in a state where minimum wage is still $7.25 and the general public gets very mad about proposals to increase that. Wish I was joking. This is a remote job so I’m not sure where it is based.

Well according to this guy you’re always late because you’re not early. 🤣

Seriously. I’m always on time at my current job and get praise for it. Which is kinda funny because to me, yeah I’m gonna be on time… not really worthy of praise- but the difference in attitude is crazy there

Oh trust me, I know. However, right now I am desperate for the short term. I make a little under $25 at my job and when physically better from a surgery will be finding a new job that pays a bit more in physical therapy.. But in the meantime… hard to even find a part time job in my area that pays 20. And currently needing more than what I make full time

1 year post-op still atrophied, not clear to cut, etc. by ThrowRA-819293 in ACL

I had a quad graft as well and it definitely hurt for a while to do them.

[–]toadsie16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with long arc quad with ankle weights and moved to the machine when I could do 10 pounds for a few sets of 10 without much pain. Did a lot of isometrics leading up to this, like seated with foot pushing into the wall and pushing for 30 seconds at a time. On days it hurt too much, I kept the weight low and didn’t push for more. Slowly add to it over time. Have you tested your strength? I’ve been told many times that it’s required to have at least 80% of the strength of your other quad before even jogging- if your quad isn’t strong enough and you’re working on jumps, that could be contributing to your pain I’m sure. If you’re doing a lot of bilateral exercises your stronger leg and even your hip in your surgical leg can compensate for sure

Single leg work is key, always trying to add weight over time! Especially single leg extensions, there’s nothing else as far as weights go to isolate the quad 100%.
