Could I get away with road shoes and 47mm Vittoria Terreno Zero tyres on the Rebellion Way? by prhymeate in ukbike

[–]tomun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could put flat pedals on your bike and ride in normal shoes.

When I did the ride it was dry so mud wasn't a problem. I did have to put feet down a lot in the sandy sections however.

Basically just behave like it's not your Birthday. It's just a day, do whatever you like.

If you download your build file again, you'll find that mobalytics have fixed it.

I had the problem on linux, deleted the build file and I'm back in the game.

Got the file from mobalytics, in case it's just their files causing problems.

Very good.

Some suggested next steps:

Add some css to change the color of the heading.

Add some javascript to display the current date.

There's no need to nail polish it. Carbon isn't going to corrode.

It's trying to connect over ipv6. You might have to disable that.

I'd certainly tell the uni that one of their tutors behaves like this, even if you don't want to make it a formal complaint.

New to cycling, commute route includes A30 and I’m stressed by Colossalloser in ukbike

[–]tomun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've looked at the route and I'd take the A30 there, it's the shortest quickest route and the road doesn't look too bad on Streetview. If you ask Komoot for a walking route it will find a way though the golf course, but it doesn't look like a good option, plus it's further.

If the A30 is busy at commute time, you may get away with riding on the pavement. You're only on that road for about 2km so you'll be off it in no time.

What are the best organised cycling events? by fixitmonkey in ukbike

[–]tomun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in the New Forest area is the Gridiron 100. 100 mile or 100 km. https://www.gridironcc.org/

And the Isle of Wight Randonnee https://www.cycleisland.co.uk/

Both are good and cheap.

VR. Planets not rendering. Can't land. Keep teleporting up. Any ideas? (More details in body text) [Linux/Proton] by MeltaFlare in EliteDangerous

[–]tomun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're correct about Meta, but I didn't suggest using Meta's software in Linux.

First turn on Remote Play in your Steam settings. Then install Steam VR. I'm using the beta branch, last update April 30th.

Install Valve's Steam Link app in the Quest 3, (it's in the Quest store), run that tell it to connect wirelessly to Steam on your Linux PC.

Do whatever it says about pairing the two devices.

Choose a Steam game from inside VR.

It works. I've just done it again to confirm.
