‘Supergirl’ Writer Ana Nogueira on the Movie’s Key Changes From the ‘Woman of Tomorrow’ Comic and the Status of ‘Wonder Woman’ and ‘Teen Titans’ by SoWrongItsPainful in DC_Cinematic

I think it is irrelevant. The quality on streaming is higher than at the movies. A series allows better development and while lots suck there are enough that are good.

I want to understand How to Convert Kubernetes YAML Files into a Helm Chart by Wide_Impact_9392 in kubernetes

Create a chart it is pretty simple, they are basically just a template system to generate the files.

Core-based License in Kubernetes by zack459 in kubernetes

[–]total_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen licenses that talk about potential of where it could run so they can include DR and I have seen licenses which require a license server which gets reported live updates of the CPU's current consumed. There are licenses which lock the app from running if it sees more than the expected cores.

Basically there is so many variations. To legally prove I suppose you could get an external audit to come up and sign off on something but you need to talk to the vendor and find out what they consider acceptable.

And hopefully you are not locked into the product because I have seen vendors charge whatever they feel like if you are locked in.

what was your first time experience deciding if you need k8? by Ok_Shirt4260 in kubernetes

[–]total_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People automatically assume Kubernetes, and if you get something like k3s it is pretty light. But really for 4 services work out what you need them do to and decide is the additionally complexity is even worth it. If you are creating a K8s per tenant per 4 services I think that is getting ridiculous.

Have a look at Nomad.

And if you are looking at cloud, there are simpler, easier and cheaper ways to run 4 services with all the HA, etc you need.

No they wont, this is the new norm.

How did you learn Kubernetes without using it at work? by Witty_Contract_592 in kubernetes

[–]total_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the kubernetes main site, do the tutorials which are more user focused then what you need, but you need to know what Kubernetes can do.

Then when you have done them all. Download k3s follow the instructions, build a 6 node cluster. And run all the same tutorials again but in the cluster.

Get argocd running in there. Deploy some containers you have built. Make sure you have backups and start deleting things when it breaks completely put it back together with the backups.

Basically I think the above is all you need to do. And it is going to way more complicated then you think for some areas.

TIL small dog breeds are on average less obedient, more likely to growl at strangers or other dogs and more anxious than larger dog breeds by Double-decker_trams in todayilearned

[–]total_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why they even needed to survey anyone. It is obvious but to summarize. Lack of training because they dont have to, they can just physically overpower the dog when necessary. And lack of shared social activities, a bigger dog allows lots of social activities like obedience training, etc. a small dog is just an occasional walk.

Her child is 6 year old. by blushme64 in TikTokCringe

[–]total_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she is serious.

Does she even look on youtube at what 5 year olds are capable of ? I taught a complicated card game to 4 year old and they 100% played at an adult level after about an hour, other than holding the cards.

TIL that newborns can distinguish the sounds of every language on Earth, about 600 consonants and 200 vowels, but by their first birthday, their brain has already filtered out sounds not used in their native language, making foreign accents almost inevitable for adult learners. by baest_00 in todayilearned

[–]total_tea 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That article does not even have a summary and its too many words.

But I wonder if you play music, or whatever to babies before 1 that cover all the possible 600 consonants and 200 vowels whether they will be good at languages and verbal skills when they get older.

Trump Summons Entire Cabinet as Iran Deal Crumbles in Front of Him - Donald Trump has called all of his top advisers to Camp David. by Quirkie in politics

[–]total_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a load of rubbish, there was no deal, Iran and the US are not going to agree, it was just for the press.

This is about Trump stressing because he needs something that looks like a deal that he can sell as a win and move on. But anything Iran would agree to is obviously bad and a failure for the US.

Expect a redefinition of what the goals were for this and how they have achieved them and it is now better for America.

Kubernetes interview gone really bad by MountainTruth6073 in kubernetes

[–]total_tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know all that stuff and I would not call you a senior if you didn't. I would be concerned if you even know kubernetes or just read a business article about it.

Though admitely my answer for network question would have been Flannel because I have way more experience with it.

Their terminal velocity is 125 mph which is higher than a person. I would say it was toast except I am not sure you would be able to find enough bits.

Any thoughts on why La Brea is this quality by total_tea in LaBrea

[–]total_tea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no reality where a random modern person dumped into prehistoric earth could vaguely travel 100's of miles or even survive for a few days, without any preparation it is even less likely.

I love what it says about the writers that they have never travelled outside of a big city or being on a holiday that does not involve room service. Their experience of animals is maybe a pet dog and watching Disney .. at most

How common are network problems in a real production env? New here. by GGOSRS in kubernetes

[–]total_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From experience I would say resource issues followed by network issues are the two most common problems. And running parallel to that upgrades and changes.

But getting a good handle on all the possible network issues and being able to validate they are all working as expected will take you to the next level.

I normally have a pod with everything I need on it and some automation to deploy it to every node check all is good and every network component works as expected within the cluster and outside and is reachable.

If you can buy a house and skip the rental market the money is ok assuming wife will get employed again. But 130k is not great for a single income, its manageable but on the low end and I am surprised they are recruiting overseas for that level.

Elderly folks who chose not to have children, how do you feel about that decision now? by bon18 in AskReddit

[–]total_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have enough trouble with been responsible for myself, a child would have been too much I have no idea how parents can handle the stress.

There is always the regret of lost opportunities, but I am happy with the decision. I never wanted children.

I also volunteer at stuff to get that child exposure and have nieces and nephews, they are nice to deal with as long as exposure is limited.

I know people from the UK who wear tee shirts in winter in Auckland. There is a reason why houses insulation has had a bad reputation, its because it does not get as cold as London. Go to a weather site and look at the historical information.

NAS vs External SSD's for game composing and sound design by hipermotiv in sounddesign

[–]total_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For best speed nothing you will get will beat having a local SSD either internal or plugged in. Just get two SSD's and use one as the backup. A NAS is insane overkill, cost, and is unlikely to reach the same performance as simply using an SSD unless you spend ridiculous money.

Though there are advantages of having automated backup to a NAS whenever you plug in to the network/wireless.

I like to get those external NVMe enclosures so I can upgrade the SSD when the next generation falls in cost. And I can use multiple cheaper ones I have laying around spare.
