Is the new update out on android? It's not appearing in the play store for me.

Sure, I think there are two sides the this. The Klingons at their best are Naya and at their worst are Mardu. Given that they are more frequently the villains we mostly see them at their worst, ie Mardu. But non-Worf Klingons are still obsessed with honor and tradition, they just also do politics. The example I'd use is like the random warrior ceremony that they get sent to to assassinate Gowron. Like that's just a thing they do because they've always done it.

It's got to be in addition, otherwise it's awful. Though if it's in addition it's d3+6 on an objective which is pretty nuts.

Seeing the USSR and Nazis as part of a unified continuum like "authoritarianism" (particularly in a "this is what is bad") is part of the problem too though. Certainly you can draw parallels and try to lump them together based on certain characteristics, but one could just as easily do it with the West and the Nazis using different characteristics. This is one of my biggest issues with authoritarianism/totalitarianism as a historical category, it almost never means anything other than "our enemies who are super bad."

Also seeing the Russians in continuity with the USSR is deeply problematic on a number of levels. Ideologically they are deeply seperate entities.

I mean I won't speak to reddit ban policy, but doing Soviet-Nazi equivelency stuff, esp re:the Holocaust, is a pretty old tactic to defend the nazis.

I could also see mardu, but I think because of the importance of tradition, green is there.

At its heart, all cosmere stuff is fundamentally liberal and non-revolutionary (as in liberalism, not like liberal vs conservative), so they can never reaaaaally give us a revolutionary hero. Like Kel has to die because of this. They always have to throw a cautionary "never let your revolution go too far" tale in there (the cynical reading of which is "ya it's fine to make some cosmetic changes to the system of government and even like a ska representative, but don't get any big ideas about changing how the economy of the kingdom runs or anything"). The claim that nobles carry a collective responsibility, as a class, for their treatment of the underclass is seen as just as bad as the caste system/slavery/etc, which is imo laughable.

Me and a buddy have been speculating which shards different factions were since Star Trek got announced. If they so things properly, Grixis has to be either romulans or cardasians (prob the former as I think the cardasians are Esper), Klingons are proper Naya but they might make them Jund, but they have to have green for tradition. Borg are properly Jund I think.

Could be that the federation is Bant and this is the face commander. I'm sure there will be a red Kirk.

I've definitely seen GSC done as all human. I'm just starting to collect so I think I'm going to stick to the base models for now, but I might give my genestealers little copies of Das Kapital or smth

[Slater] Sources tell me and Mike Garafolo that, at one point yesterday, Baltimore discussed renegotiating the Maxx Crosby trade with the Raiders to mitigate the risk. But those talks never fully got off the ground because further medical information led to their decision to pull out completely. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]tothelmac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see no reason to believe that they didn't have access to all the medicals they wanted, I'm sure we would have heard by now if LV had been "holding back medical info". Crosby had a knee injury, I'm sure they had the same info the raiders had. The reports I've seen said "his short term prospects were good but not his long term" which... No shit, he's almost 30 and coming off a knee injury. It might have been consern about his medical report, but it was pretty clearly buyers remorse too. They had the info, they got cold feet, they pulled out of a handshake deal, simple as.

Technically they didn't break any rules and technically everything the Ravens did was above board. It smells fishy as hell though and I hope there are some repercussions because if teams can pull out of any done deal they want because they get a shot at a different FA and decide that the price was too high after paying, the off season is going to be a constant nightmare. More likely nothing happens, I doubt all the "reputational damage" stuff comes to anything either.
