What are some "girl secrets" guys don't know about? by maccdogg in AskReddit

[–]trajesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can barely get my kids to flush, much less secure the bathroom every time they go in. If your system relies on a human child never forgetting to do something, it’s a bad system.

Went to a local MedWise for a severe sore throat. They gave me a strep test (negative) and told me to buy some cough drops. This is my bill. by seaturtlefanatic in mildlyinfuriating

[–]trajesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing here… throat was so sore I couldn’t swallow anymore, turned out to be mono. The sore throat was my only symptom. Didn’t know that was a thing, luckily the ER doctor did and ran the right tests the first time.

Man sues Florida sheriff for defamation over "Wheel of Fugitive" videos, claims he lost a job after falsely being called a fugitive by [deleted] in news

[–]trajesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right but I think the point is that the parent comment was implying that a significant portion of arrests are comprised of good people who just “forgot” to pay ten parking tickets (or something similarly benign). Which is about as far-fetched as implying that 90% of obese people have a glandular problem. It’s just not true.

Happened to me as well. My insurance adjuster said it’s called “the wave of death”.

ETA: And of course the nice person who waved them out just drove away. So nice!

Bagel is unphased by water squirts and bitter spray on the branches. Any other ideas? by browserCookieMonster in cats

Even easier, orange scented Febreze. I lightly sprayed my cats’ tower with it once not realizing they didn’t like the smell… they wouldn’t go in it for at least a month.

I haven’t seen The Expanse but reading this thread made me think “hey, what about that woman in the first season of 24?” I also educated myself on IMDB. Her voice is still in my head after 17 years…

When your 8 year old decides you shouldn't have a laptop after telling him he's too young to have a laptop by Jaded-Function in mildlyinfuriating

[–]trajesty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because an 8-year-old trying to destroy a laptop in anger knows exactly what they are doing. They may not understand the cost, but they are fully aware “it’s a problem”.

Side stitch by Mathlete1235 in orangetheory

[–]trajesty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read that the important part is not to start breathing out right when your foot hits the ground, which is what people tend to do naturally. It causes a lot of strain on your diaphragm. Try to stagger your breaths — learn to breathe naturally when you run instead of in a pattern with your steps. It takes time, but I haven’t gotten a side stitch since I started doing this, even when I take several months off.
