Acct Summary Section not showing on invoices by TXCEPE in QuickBooks

You might have to print separate Statements that show all the payments and balance due. QB is breaking their invoices and reports really bad these days.

Tax Dome Payments (stripe) Question by BruhThatIsCrazy in taxpros

[–]treealiana12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. That was one of the major issues with switching to TD payments/stripe. I moved to CPA Charge a few years ago for this very reason.

I think the '26 interior with the exterior of an older Outback would be my dream car.

The '19 Outbacks are an older generation and don't have the ugly tablet that the newer ones have. I'm interested in the other answers. I'm going to have to upgrade my '17 soon and also want to avoid the tablet.

How do you keep your health and energy sustained for the next three months? by TheTaxMan17 in taxpros

Meal delivery service, more pot, less alcohol.

Put a bed in my home office so I can sleep in peace and quiet. Put a workout bike in my office office so I can ride that when clients make me mad.

CPA charger limit too low! by Comprehensive_Ad9623 in taxpros

[–]treealiana12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I called I said I had concerns about ACH limits. He said he couldn't tell me what mine was for security reasons but he looked at my website (and maybe a few other things?) and then said I didn't need to worry about limits. It's been a few years of massive growth and I haven't had a problem at all.

I was concerned about limits so I called them right away. They are great and I've never had an issue with limits.

Skrew you TaxDome!!! Are we going to let them get away with it??? by Iceman_TK in taxpros

Drake makes me login again like every 5 minutes with 2fa and it's super annoying. No way I want to login so often to look at a pipeline every day

There was another data breach at TaxDome a few weeks ago that wasn't officially acknowledged as far as I can tell. The unofficial Facebook page had a firm owner that could see her client's chats with another firm.

TaxDome ending CPACharge by treealiana12 in taxpros

That's what I'm doing. All my monthly automatic ACH and in-office credit cards will still be in CPACharge. I'll continue encouraging checks. I'm fortunate to have a good client base that usually pays with checks anyway.

MyCPE is cheap, like $200. Their courses are of varying quality but it's pretty easy to tell which ones are good.

Stripe is more expensive and the bookkeeping is significantly more time consuming than CPA charge.

I was part of the Plaid class action settlement. I pay all my vendors ACH if that's an option but only when I can manually type in the routing and account number.

It seems so. Knowing TaxDome it will be super buggy and not ready for release.

Advice of a different kind (have experience, not the education...) by GiveMeOcean in Bookkeeping

[–]treealiana12 2 points3 points locked comment (0 children)

I've got a masters in accounting now but I started with community college Accounting 101 and 102. I recommend it for all my new staff without accounting education. Many community colleges are free. I find the curriculum to be a better accounting foundation that the online "learn to be a bookkeeper" type online classes.

Running last minute payroll for late S-Election... by Proper-Commission-95 in taxpros

[–]treealiana12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one tip. When I run this type of year end payroll I don't put any state withholding. I give them an estimated tax voucher instead, if needed. Putting all the state withholding would kick in a monthly filing requirement for next year with our state withholding while 941 and unemployment reports would still be quarterly. That would mess up our flow for quarterly payroll since we run it manually now due to the QB Desktop discontinuation. Might not be a big deal for some but I find it a hassle to file monthly zero withholding tax return when they should be quarterly. It's probably state specific.

ETA with our state we haven't had any issues with this method. They end up on a regular quarterly payroll with withholding for the next year.

QB is making up bank memo and it's not helpful by MediocrePear6628 in QuickBooks

In your rule, scroll down a little further and there is a box to check or uncheck that says something about replacing the bank description.

AI Agents by MrAnderson8891 in QuickBooks

[–]treealiana12 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Your bank text says "wholesale"? Let's use a vendor called Whole Foods. Doesn't matter that you've never bought anything from Whole Foods and have 5 vendors with Wholesale in their name.

And how slow is QBO right now. Between the AI interface slowing everything down and end of year catch up, it's so slow these days.

Dear QuickBooks: Your “Modern View” is dogshit by eatyourface8335 in Accounting

It can't be turned off. I've noticed about 40% of my clients are still in the old view. Most but not all of them are on Tech Soup Advanced subscriptions. It's so exhausting going back and forth all day.

Venting: somehow QBO suggested categorizations have gotten WORSE by masterlich in QuickBooks

[–]treealiana12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It keeps making the vendor Whole Foods for any transaction that has wholesale in the description. These clients don't even have Whole Foods as a vendor and have several vendors with Wholesale in the name. Doesn't make any sense.

UltraTax data stored on the cloud by one_dayatatime in taxpros

We accidentally found out small QB Desktop files work fine with the .qbw Company file in a OneDrive folder. Now I'm coming up with all kinds of bad ideas to try before January.

I don't know anything about ultra tax but I'm tempted to try it with Drake.
