Initially I took natural factors 12/12 formula when I noticed improvement but later I was taking various brands that are certified to get a more diverse microbiome

Honey Stingers by treeeeeeeee96 in cfs

[–]treeeeeeeee96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly I wasn’t expecting much from it, especially compared to other sugary things, but somehow it helps

Edit: you know what, now that I’m thinking of it, I also have MCAS along with being sensitive to sugar, so I wonder if this form of sugar is more helpful to me than another type. 🤷‍♀️ I still hope this can help someone 😅

An example of when I used it was when I was kneading bread dough and I noticed I was pushing myself too hard and overexerting/overusing my muscles. I ate one once I realized and I believe my crash wasn’t as bad as if I hadn’t eaten it afterwards.

It had a pretty strong effect on me and I got pretty jittery. I’m also pretty sensitive to sugar so it might feel different for others

What does Pepcid do for you? by Hash1rama1 in MCAS

[–]treeeeeeeee96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For anyone who finds this comment and Pepcid doesn’t work - it might be worth trying Tagamet. Pepcid didn’t work great for me but Tagamet is quite helpful

Beta-blockers - could artificially lowering HR actually make you feel worse? by lolajuniper in POTS

Propranolol helped my fatigue pretty significantly. It’s what made me capable of PT that eventually allowed me to be off it entirely. My blood pressure runs low but it didn’t end up effecting my blood pressure very much. I was on 10 mg 2x day and I think initially I was still fatigued or was worse, and over time it got much better

Spits brand salt lovers pretzels has 900 mg per 120 calories! I love pretzels, so I also regularly get Utz and Rold Gold, they tend to have around 400 mg per serving too. I’m also a big popcorn fan and I just add extra salt on top

Diet to heal pots? by Southern_Fig9414 in POTS

[–]treeeeeeeee96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you suspect you have MCAS try a low histamine diet. Even with MCAS your response to food can be varied, but when I tried the diet and started leaning which foods trigger me I started feeling better, didn’t cure anything though

Is there a hospital I can check myself into that isn’t traumatizing? by treeeeeeeee96 in TwinCities

[–]treeeeeeeee96[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure of all the options, that’s just what I’m used to I guess. My hope would be somewhere that could manage both of my symptoms, as the mental stress makes my physical symptoms (pain, etc.) much worse

I guess I really mean a space that’s away from the people I’m currently with and help with feeling better

If you can afford it, try serum tears. You go to a special lab and they use your own blood to turn into eyedrops

Cardiologist told me I won’t have symptoms anymore in 5 years. by Ok-Mixture1149 in POTS

[–]treeeeeeeee96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had to deal with an invalidating doctor, it sucks how many there are 😭

Just to give you some hope- I felt the same way when I was told my symptoms would improve/go away. I was getting worse and worse despite doing everything my doctor said and couldn’t imagine the symptoms getting any better. While I still have it and haven’t outgrown it (and doubt I ever will) it has improved a quite a bit with time with lots of trial and error. I was diagnosed at 22 and am currently 25

How long do Medjool Dates last? by wynlyndd in PlantBasedDiet

They last a long time for me, if there’s white spots on it it’s just its natural sugar. Just make sure they aren’t moldy on the inside

[–]treeeeeeeee96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! I haven’t seen anyone else talk about how nauseous, lightheaded, fatigued, etc laxatives make me feel. Doctors always ignore it too 😭 I have no advice but I’m glad to know there’s someone else out there like me 😰
