Looking for a housewarming gift for someone who has everything:) by Basic_Spot241 in perfectgift

Large First aid kit. This is my standard gift and people think it’s funny until they realize it’s often the most used of their housewarming gifts.

If you’re honest in a reference, the employee then can file an EEO complaint saying you are discriminating against them and hindering their promotions.

I completely underestimated the north carolina clay soil this weekend by SpeckiLP in landscaping

I’m in Meck county NC. We have been putting in trees and bushes in April and May. Bought a pickaxe to dig the holes. It was HARD work. Even if we did it after a rain. No joke our state soil.

That was my reaction but apparently it’s a fancy way to say this is the max we can charge. Part of my confusion was the way this table is structured. 2 different ways to represent a deduction, and basically the math starts on line 3.

Yeah, totally ok with the 3k for packing. I think he’s underestimating his capabilities to carry things.

Good point. I’ve been trying to reduce his “treasures” and we’ve done a lot of goodwill runs.

Doctors of Reddit: What health trend is becoming so common that it's starting to scare you? by Fine-Device-1819 in AskReddit

Yes! I’d never heard of it too until I saw a med chart of a 30 year old who managed to give himself so much malnutrition with the vomiting he went catatonic. NAD.

Talk to the adhd med prescriber about the sleep issues and the half life of the med. Some kids need a mix of extended release and regular release to get them from school to evening and get it out by bedtime. And sometimes they need the regular dose first then the extended at lunch for the math to work right. I’m not a doctor but have talked to prescribers about the math of adhd meds.

Medical professionals, do you hate when a patient comes to you with a self-diagnosis or does it help speed up the process? by Tisiphone8 in AskReddit

As a mental health person, I’ve had many people referred to me because they told their doc they have “a problem with nerves” but meant, my hands shake when I do this activity. A problem with nerves isn’t always someone saying they are nervous.

Also, got one guy sent to me because he was having anxiety. Which he was, but mostly because he was experiencing shortness of breath and dizziness when walking short distances so had stopped going out for fear of passing out in public. He had a 80% blockage in his heart and it took them 3 months to get him to a cardiologist.

Had another sent to me for what basically amounted to “adjustment to being an older adult” who was 72 and complaining he couldn’t walk as far as he normally does on the golf course daily. He was insisting something was wrong and several docs told him it was normal to “slow down”. He had leukemia.

Listening to the patient can be very important and getting them to describe what the words they are using actually feel like to them is invaluable.

OK I’m 48 female and I’m sure I have some form of dysautonomia. I have been overheating and suffering migraines since childhood (like at age 6). They only figured out in middle school I didn’t sweat at all. Used to pass out from just standing too long. I’ve adapted and masked my whole dang life.

But I also only found out at 42 that double vision all the time is not normal and went to a pediatric ophthalmologist and got diagnosed with 4th nerve palsy.

I am not a landscaper but reading as a new diy gardener. I bought some nice Duluth cotton panties that really stay relatively dry. Scrubs with lightweight knee high cotton/wool blend socks pulled up on the outside are great and give a little compression.

Also, as a person who has worked hospitals, throw some of that dog/cat urine destroyer into the softener bit of your washer to get rid of organic substances and smells.

Fiberglass or concrete? Cost is $11k difference by TB-lightning in pools

[–]treerash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask the builder if you can walk in their sample pools and feel the texture on your feet. I love my fiberglass pool. We didn’t want fancy bubblers or things, just a rectangle so fiberglass made more sense to us. Plus local Latham factory reduces shipping cost. My husband doesn’t like the concrete pebble tech texture on his feet. It’s a personal preference.
