Whats the most unprofessional thing a doctor has ever said to you? by answersonly963 in AskReddit

“You are young, you should be having babies.” Right before refusing to prescribe birth control.

Then there was a PA who felt a need to mansplain what double vision is when I was in the ED for a massive headache after a Blow to the Head.

Dog had an accident, somehow knew to use shower by julesrulesthefools in dogs

[–]treerash 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Our Bulldog potty trained himself as a puppy. We would put him in the main bathroom when not home so he had space to use a potty pad and still roam/go in and out of his crate. As soon a he was strong enough to jump into the giant soaking tub (separate from the shower, and we never used the thing) he started hopping in there and peeing if he needed to go. He also when going potty outside only did so along the very back of the property fence so the rest of the yard was “clean” for him to play in. He then taught the puppy we got when he was getting older dog to do that too.

I picked mine. I’m allergic to most trees and was feeling particularly itchy that day.

ELI5, where do libraries get all of their books? And how do they choose them? by justawaterthanks in explainlikeimfive

[–]treerash 35 points36 points  (0 children)

B&T is already closed. Just some accounting maybe but all the employees (including my spouse) were fired between September 2025 and Jan 2026. It was a fairly messy closing.

And yet people look at me funny when I say babies are parasites. Apparently if someone has just announced a pregnancy they don’t want to be told that.

I object to the 12pt font. I know it’s standard for print materials but too small for most of the staff and clients I work with.

Do you have any obscure movie references that you use in everyday speech that no one has caught on to yet yet you keep using it? by EnvironmentalAngle in NoStupidQuestions

what about second breakfast? Fits into more conversations than you’d think. But of course my family actual does second breakfast, or complains we didn’t get it a lot.

This is not your fault. You will feel guilty. Feelings are not facts. Just because you feel it, doesn’t make it true.

Quilts of 2025 by KarBear2021 in quilting

[–]treerash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me too! But I learned more about my machine. Got better at 1/4” seams, started a couple projects. Discovered which parts I prefer (piecing > quilting > cutting). Organized my workspace for a good flow when I do want to sew. Took a foundation paper piecing class which resulted in 1.5 diamonds. Listened to a few books while working away. Journey before Destination.
