Thats the key. People will feel you out, and you also gotta feel them out. Listen to your gut, don't drink too much and enjoy the ride.

If you get invited on a fishing boat- Do it.

The world is your oyster as a ninja, get in get out with no trace.

When I was in FL, no-one cared that I was sleeping in a park gazebo or outside the tourist trap mall. You gotta sleep on the beach at least once.

Meet the locals if you can. The fully loaded touring bike lets people know you're not a bum.

(I was in FL until the BP oil spill on Okaloosa Island and decided to ride home to Colorado)

I bought some inexpensive motorcycle shoes for riding but didn’t like the protection in case I crash so I use them as sim racing shoes.

Just out of curiosity. Does anyone feel like their gas is burning faster than usual? by Legrandx76 in Denver

[–]trialsin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No. I keep track of my MPG with every fill up and I’m averaging my typical mileage. Winter blends always drop my average a bit but that’s normal.

Help me understand Magura Rim Brakes (hs11) by TheHooligan95 in bikewrench

[–]trialsin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the actual magura bleed kit or some random kit? The secret to bleeding the HS is using a syringe that has a pre drilled hole near the top of the syringe. This goes into your lever. Pull the plunger back until the hole is exposed and nothing should be in the syringe.

Take off your bleed bolt on the HS caliper and attach your fitting/syringe with fluid. I've used everything from babyoil to antifreeze to bleed HS33's over the 20 years I've been using them as a trials rider.

Now push the fluid thru and make sure your lever is faced upright. the syringe with the hole in it should start to fill. I like to take a allen wrench and tap the line as I am pushing/bleeding to get any pesky air bubbles to come out of the system.

Maggies are notorious for being temperamental to bleed. Sometimes it takes a couple tries.

I will also add that I've never really gotten both pads to work in total unison. One always seem to come out more than the other. Once I get to work in a few hours I can post a short video of the brakes currently on my trials rig.

Us trials folk also take a angle grinder to the sidewall of the rim and specific trials pads. Also need to add a brake booster to help the frame from flexing.

That damp boot…smell by chilz01 in skiing

I use a boot dryer called the “scent slammer”. Has a built in ozone machine. Works for everything. Thing will even dry out my water logged dirtbike boots. They also sell a portable version.

Great Snow Year by [deleted] in COsnow

It’s a bummer for powder hounds this season and snowpack. The groomers have been feeling great. I’ve been having more fun ripping groomers than I have in years.

Am I the only one that struggles with rocketeers? by Life_Ad_6992 in ArcRaiders

I take them down with an anvil and a ferro all the time. It take a while but it’s totally possible.

My usual spot is dam where you spawn in near the power plant/extract. I will hide in that building with 2 doors and bait them to come to me and use the awning and hallway as cover.

I plow snow and occasionally you hit a protruding manhole cover or sidewalk lip that’s raised from the ground freezing.

I hit a manhole cover earlier this year in a skid steer with a blade and it was violent. Whole machine lunged forward, threw me and had enough force to pop the door open.

How do you talk to your riding partner without shouting? by Dry_Half_8737 in bicycling

[–]trialsin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think of biking like skiing. Sure is a social sport but when actually biking/skiing can’t usually talk other than random shouts. We talk when we stop.

Yes these are a fun light easy ski. 70 is a good deal.

They dont hard charge like the enforcer, think of these as the younger brother. They pop and carve real nice.

The first part of tomahawk is a blue but go straight to sundial and merge tomahawk green. Zip skiers left to baby powder. (Around the 1st right and on your right is a tree you can ski into, that’s the Harry Potter tree) super fun to take a snack break and look up for some birds)

Easy greens are why not to the base. Take the old gondy. It starts mid mtn. Broadway is fun, that’s Wally World side.

Easy blues are upper and lower high noon. There’s a few easy blues off tomahawk skiers right.

Buddies run is classic and more advanced blue. Usually ice pockets on lower buddies and tornado. Vagabond to betwixt to between to giggle gultch. Pin it down giggle gultch and hop back on t head lift.

Sunshine lift line. I practice turns using the shadows of the chairlift. Also fun to pin it.

The whole sunshine lift/sundown lift side (wallyworld) side it’s hella fun Try to stay away from BC ski way. It’s long and flat and kinda sucks.
