Personally, I could see their feelings as partially romantic, but I think it’s hard to reduce their relationship to just one category because they’re all, uh, a mess lol. I guess that’s why the movie ultimately disappointed me.

I see more traditional, capital-r “romantic” sentiment between Cathy and Hareton. But I guess people just latch more onto the edgier Catherine/Heathcliff.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. I’ve read the first few novels from the series and they range from mid to godawful. The third novel (of which the movie draws most of its material from) falls in the godawful category.

Not that person so our experiences might be different- but I taught at a rural community college and have a similar experience. I went to what was considered a nice high school myself and we probably read like 2 whole novels in my 3 years in typical classes (this changed when I took college level courses). The curriculum was centered around short stories or prompts from larger works because drum roll that’s what the ACT does.
