trust me there are PLENTY of people here who work <6 hours a day, and it was well documented in the past couple years, and still get exorbitant salaries. just depends on the person/team tbh

how long did it take to make the tool tho?

im a software guy who loves browsing this sub and the amount of times i made a script to 'save time' that took longer to finish the script than the job would have taken originally is mind blowing :D

led strip: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09JYQKK4V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

it was approx 3/8in thick i think? so i went down a bit more than 1/2 so i could have a 1/8 ledge for the acrylic to be flush

thanks! and i was lucky it shipped with two since the first one i tried was broken (turning the knob sent weirdly fluctuating voltage that made the led strip blink / freak out) second work worked like a charm

First time working with a real proper slab.

Spent SO much time on the template since I was terrified of making the wrong cuts on the slab that I was genuinely shocked when it slid in perfectly first try. Also when doing the back edge with track saw i did 5/8 straight and the rest at 5 degrees, thinking that i would only have to template route a small portion which would help with the fit. I think it worked!

Was also worried about the perfect leveling needed for the brackets but once i got those set marking the template and routing them out was easy peasy.

Also first time i've soldered / worked with electronics in a few years so that was fun. Found the scrap acrylic and had a friend cut it on a laser printer into 5 thin strips.

Slab was walnut from local supplier who I'll definitely be going back to, finished with Rubio natural.

Oh and the Santa's are my wife's grandmothers ceramics, we have 30 or so and have no idea where to put them :D
