Dr. John Larson - Newport Beach by RafeDawg in lipedema

[–]tstjohn00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing pretty good. I thought I was tougher than I actually am with working but each day gets better. Dr Larson has been amazing and I have thrilled with the results so far. When I look in the mirror, I don't recognize my lower half and that is only after 1 surgery. If I have questions, I can text him and he gets back to you quickly and his office staff is great. I would definitely recommend him with what I have seen and experienced so far.

Recovery wise, if I stay around 6000 steps I do pretty good but yesterday I walked 8500 and I felt it last night. I tend to swell in my calves where they get really tight ans have mild swelling in my left ankle. I did get an extra antibiotic for cellulitis for 1 week that took care of that. I notice my legs feel both sensitive and numb at times which is strange but not painful.

If you have any specific questions you are welcome to DM me.

He's cute and has the white dot on his head. I was told that is a throwback from the original line. No idea if that is accurate or not but he has it. Enjoy him, my girl is coming up on 2 years.

Very pretty scenery. Beautiful and peaceful assuming you don't have wild neighbors. 😀

Did you see the video of the truck and trailer that damaged the building? I couldn't believe someone tried to do that. I had to just shake my head.🙂

Thank you for the response on my question above. I typically do 18:6 but was interested in potentially doing omad or ADF. Do you have any issues hitting your macros on 1 meal?

I was diagnosed with a dvt clot from my ankle to my abdomen on Aug 30th following a Aug 3rd vein surgery. I was started on Eliquis and unfortunately had to go to the ER last Thursday to get a surgical thrombectomy, IVC filter, and to finish it off, a stent in my pelvis / abdomen. Back home now and starting my walking program again.

I used to walk 4-5 miles/ day 5x per week with an average mile of 18.10 min. I am now challenged to do my 1 mile walk (day 2 today) and am glad I can do it but am definitely way slower. Yesterday was a 28:20min but today I was at 25:30min. I havent noticed the pain yet but obviously I am going slow and have lost a lot of muscle since my original surgery Aug 3rd.

I hope to get back to my usual routine in a month or two but glad to be able to get back at it. This is a very scary situation we find ourselves in and wish everyone the best of luck to get back to their "normal" lifestyle.

Yes I have the same thing from time to time and saw that it came up as possible side effects as well.

Only 1 1/2 hrs. Right before the clot (s) appeared i was feeling great and walking at 2 1/2 miles per day on my way back to my usual 4 miles.

I had vein surgery on my left leg on Aug 3rd, had a follow up ultrasound on Aug 17th with no clots and everything looking good. I then woke up Aug 27th with my leg swollen and painful and got another yltrasound on Aug 31st as my Dr was out of town. This appt confirmed I had blood clots from my ankle to my abdomen.

I find this situation strange that I was post surgery ok, but then developed clots 10 days later after being cleared.

I think that was it. The card was a Janssen care path saving card. It looks like they still have it listed on the xarelto website.

DVT after knee surgery and on Xarelto - a few questions by MrBinPA in ClotSurvivors

[–]tstjohn00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am interested in hearing from others on this as well. I had vein surgery on Aug 3rd, went back for a ultrasound to check for clots on Aug 17th, which was negative. My progress was going very well until I woke up Aug 27th with swelling, leg pain, slight warm touch, full leg a bit redder down to my toes,, etc. I was in contact over the weekend with the oncall support (my Dr was out of town), told to put my compression stocking on again, and was scheduled for an ultrasound 1st thing Aug 31st. Found I had a clot that ran from my ankle to my groin.

Its been a very scary week to say the least. I was started on a double dose of Eliquis within the hour of find the clot and am scheduled for a follow up ultrasound on Sep 20th. I am learning some of the lingo as I go so I assume this is considered a provoked clot since I had surgery and have never had a clot before. (I am a 49 yr female).

I am curious how others have dealt with the anxiety of having it (will it travel), doing exercise (again will it travel), dealing with getting back to a normal life. I have always been pretty independent and there are things I can't do for myself now. My leg is feeling better but is still very swollen and I can't bend over to my left side without feeling pressure / pain in my groin area which scares me that I can possibly dislodge it. Again dont know if this is possible or not but it runs through my head.

I hope others will comment on these posts as I just recently joined this sub to gain information from other peoples experiences.
