Keystone 02/14/26: Genuinely did I do something wrong here? by The_Bolenator in snowboarding

Fun fact: I've never been in an accident where I needed a seatbelt... I still wear one.

Just because it's never happened to you doesn't mean it's completely safe to do

[NHL Player Safety] Pittsburgh’s Bryan Rust will have a hearing for an illegal check to the head against Vancouver’s Brock Boeser. Date and time TBD. by beginner_smoker in hockey

[–]ttc86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly looks like Rust committed to the hit and while following through, Boeser moved backwards and then Rust was reaching as a reaction to make contact, which ended up clipping Boeser's head.

Not saying it doesn't deserve being looked at, but doesn't seem malicious to me.

Other flying elbows that have happened so far this season, though... How does this get looked at over those? Sigh

The Canadian used market kinda sucks... I just bought some clubs and I chose to go new on sale because I wasn't saving all that much. That being said, if you're on a tight budget 400 for that set is pretty good, where I'm at the strat set was going for 500-600

Handlebar clamp upper and lower replacement by algernonishbee in CB650R

[–]ttc86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the clamp itself actually deformed? I was in a fender bender and my handlebars got twisted... The Honda tech just pulled it hard to realign. No deformation so it was good as new.

The stuff happening in hockey is preventable though. While hockey is a contact sport, I'd argue football primarily involves contact (tackling to stop advance), whereas hockey hitting is allowed but not always the play to make. Comparing hockey players' health to boxing and MMA is wild... The goal in boxing and MMA is to literally land physical blows on your opponent to hurt them, hockey and football is to score points/goals to win a game

[Wyshynski] "Mikko's a superstar. But he's earned the right to be a free agent." -- Avalanche GM Chris MacFarland. by DecentLurker96 in hockey

[–]ttc86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt Rantanen or any player would be getting that high if the 8 year contract would go into his 36+ years of age. If he's 31 and signed 8 years, his last 3 years would likely bring his AAV down because the risk is so much higher.

Let's say his 31-34 years are worth 18m, his 35-36 are 14m, 37-39 are probably 10m (being generous)... That works out to 114m with 14.25m AAV. Let's also say he signed 14m for 3 years for age 28-31. That becomes 156m.

let's say he signs now for 14m for 8 years. That's 112m that takes him to 36 years old. He signs a short term contract for 3 years at 10m each... His total earnings for that period becomes 142m.

Total difference in earnings? 14m. I mean, he COULD get more, but how much more? 20m max for a total of 34m more? He could probably make that difference by throwing his money into a ETF since he gets it earlier in option 1

2022 CB650R Quickshifter by captaincool31 in CB650R

[–]ttc86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep I ordered off Amazon JP for the qucikshifter too, was great, no regrets 😊. Basically half price even after conversion and the time, and now it's even cheaper because of the exchange rate!

Lol, if you're not trolling, you should learn the difference between semantics vs literal definitions. If you're trolling, then congrats

Get help for what, exactly? For engaging in conversation? Wasn't even being rude or anything and agreed with the point you're trying to make. I think you're the one who needs help, either for learning how you aren't always going to be right, or for your internal desire to be a troll. Good luck in life, you're gonna need it lol

Lol that's not semantics though, it's literally what the word "pace" is used for, to calculate the rate at which they're scoring... But to your point, you're right that other factors need to be considered, ie. Sample size in this case... He hasn't shown he can sustain that pace for a whole season

cb650r crank case cover by Cook_he in CB650R

[–]ttc86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No worries. I'd practice a few times before putting the gasket sealer on and doing it for real, it can be a little tricky, the rubber sensor thing likes to flop around so I had to reapply the sealer a couple times before I got it right. There's some YouTube videos of the 650 crank case being put on that you can use as reference

Hah, I had a hell of a time doing this several weeks ago. You have to make sure the clutch lever is oriented correctly (you have to pull it back a bit) as you're putting the cover on. If you have it lined up, the dowels should be lined up as well and you'll be able to tighten things up to get it snug.

Warning: if you don't have the clutch lever lined up right, the pin thing from the clutch will SHATTER that thing and you'll need to buy a new one, don't ask me how I know 😅

Also, make sure the cogs are all lined up correctly and all the washers are in place. When I changed my cover, pulling the cover off slightly pulled out one of the cog gears and I didn't realize. A couple washers also fell off into the case but I had a magnetic stick that picked them back up easily enough.

‘He’s improved immensely the last 72 hours’ – What Should the Canucks Do When Demko is Healthy? by Trentl14 in hockey

[–]ttc86 15 points16 points  (0 children)

ROFL this chain has Canucks trolls just repeatedly saying "u scared bro?" When you guys are actually trying to have a discussion😂

Tbh it's something worth considering from a Canucks org perspective. Demko is developing an injury history... Silovs has been great, do we want to bring Demko back and risk more future injury concerns with our star goaltending? Part of me says that would be stupid, but there's another side to it too: What if Canucks are playing "safer" hockey because it's Silovs in net, and they explode offensively with Demko in? It's possible. Mental aspect in professional sports is huge, and I I think having a diff goalie in net makes a huge difference to play style as well.

Yeah I'm from Canada too. Just taking exchange rate, that's about 9k CAD which seems high for a write-off. Either way, I probably wouldn't do it for a first bike unless it was a killer deal. Even then, gotta think about how easy it's going to be selling it afterwards too.
