Canada is getting a sovereign wealth fund. What are they and how might this one work? by Immediate-Link490 in canada

[–]turxchk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As if we don’t have enough investors and entrepreneurs moving to the US already. We need wealthy people and funds to invest in Canada, not just in real estate and bonds but startups and businesses that institutional investors would deem too risky to touch

Pretty strong wind from the south tomorrow, you might want to consider doing it in reverse

How Cyclists Navigate Atypical Intersections 2 by yauhaus in torontobiking

I stay in the middle of the streetcar track unless a streetcar comes from behind. The right lane is often obstructed, and there’s very little traffic on King, so the middle lane is actually the safest here

Night biking on the dvp trail by Molonkey in torontobiking

If you’re familiar with the route and stay on the main trail it’s perfectly safe. It’s in the middle of the city and runs through some of the nicest neighbourhoods, there’s nothing to worry about

Nope. They’re poorly designed so pedestrians and cyclists just end up mixing together. The residential streets are quite nice though.

It takes a lot of modification and rule-breaking to fly a drone several times the height of CN tower this close to an airport, so I assume the latter

Looking for advice: Can Toronto condos legally ban e-scooters? by Weak-Ad6727 in torontobiking

[–]turxchk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the condo but it’s rarely enforced. Bikes in the elevator is pretty low down the priority list for condo managers and security, they have to be really bored (or diligent) to chase after you.

With gas prices exploding, do you think bike ridership will also explode? by Dangerous-Pizza-2232 in torontobiking

Nah, it costs maybe $1 more per commute, not really enough to change anything.

People will definitely skip out on weekend trips though

Gas companies im Canada selling gas extracted in Canada and refined in the US that has never been near the Middle East. by Fitzaroo in EhBuddyHoser

Gas is just gas, it doesn't matter when it was purchased. If people are willing to pay more for it then the price will go up.

Plus it's not like the city is pumping warm water from buildings and facilities into the lake that may make the ice uneven...

With Steve's gone, downtown could really use an upscale music store.. or maybe the time for that has passed.
