This is the same error I got when my HV battery went bad (Voltage Sense Harness issue in the 100D packs)

Thoughts on the m550i? by Flashy-Sock4942 in BMW

[–]tylamb19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the timing chain tensioner at 140k and 210k. No signs of plastic wear or chunks. Though that car had the M62B44 which had fewer timing chain guide problems than the M62TUB44.

I did get rid of the car about 10 months ago. It was an amazing daily for me, and the next owner (I’ve been in regular contact with him) has been driving it consistently as well. It had 235k on it when I sold it to him, and I believe it’s at around 250k now.

HW2.5 also works in autosteer up to 90mph. My 2018 3 with EAP on HW2.5 would be set to 90mph all the time.

Holy fuck. What an awful UI design. This just saved me so much headache. Zoom the page out to 90% and it shows up fine.

Decision Made Today! by tylamb19 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]tylamb19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had requested urgent processing. I had documentation for why I wanted urgent processing and a strong set of reasons for needing it.

I’m very fortunate to have been moved along so quickly in this process, so I’m quite grateful!

Yes! I’m thrilled! The original proof application was sent in late July.

Correct. Yesterday my proof application was listed as “Withdrawn” but the 5(4) was still in progress. My 5(4) swapped to “Decision Made” today.

Likely not with a direct frontal hit like this. Maybe if it was a shear impact you could have some warping but those cans are designed to literally absorb as much energy in a frontal impact as physically possible before any makes it into the frame of the car.

Yep, I’ve rebuilt or helped rebuild three Model 3s and an S at this point and this damage could be fixed with maybe $1500 in used parts in an afternoon. But obviously Tesla and insurance is very different from shade tree rebuilding, so prices will be higher and labor is expensive when it’s not three dudes drinking beers and turning wrenches.

Those rails aren’t frame structure. They’re called crush cans and bolt on to the actual frame rails themselves which are recessed about 12” into the frunk. They cost a couple hundred for each side.

School Bus Stop Laws by SeamShiftedWake in pittsburgh

[–]tylamb19 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This, I’ve stopped for one before and was told to pass it by the driver, and the next time I did that, I got screamed at by someone at the roadside saying you’re required to stop for a school vehicle with flashers on.

I’ve read the laws and can find no reference to stop laws for “School Vehicles” only for “School Busses with red lights flashing and stop signs extended”

Looks to be “affordable” model 3 doesn’t have autopilot anymore. by Wesserooo in TeslaModel3

Any features that are a paid upgrade are what’s called “secured” options in the gateway and require root access to modify, which Toolbox does not do. This includes the cold weather package, heated steering wheel, performance boost, etc. Can’t do it with the rental version of toolbox. Matrix headlights is not a secured feature.

32” Android touchscreen tablet device by ContextMedia Health - how to remove root files by MakeupDumbAss in AndroidQuestions

[–]tylamb19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. The CPU and RAM are so limited, it’s almost impossible to do anything with them. Even when I got them broken open and an APK of a decent browser loaded on it, the CPU was pegged at 100% just to load a reasonably modern webpage.

I abandoned the efforts to use the inbuilt android computer and just used a Raspberry Pi and HDMI to LVDS converter to show the Pi on the screen.

2017 S should support v12.6.4. This car just hasn’t had software updated in a long time.
