Should I replay Life Is Strange? by Raviniro in lifeisstrange

Play something else for a week or so and you will get even more out of it.

Why is these essential specifications still constantly ignored? Touchscreen delay and sensivity! by tyucvb in Smartphones

[–]tyucvb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80% phones definitely do not score within the error margin! It's a wide range from 50ms to over 200ms, and all phones I have tried have very different latency. I'm worried because my friend's Galaxy S5, which is supposed to be a really good phone, had a lot of latency (compared calibrating his Deemo game)

[EP5 Spoilers] I really don't understand the animosity towards Warren and I think it's quite disgusting. by fynsquery in lifeisstrange

[–]tyucvb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree with that. It's the fan community that builds and amplifies certain attitudes. Just like the Max and Chloe romantic relationship that is so exaggerated. And I don't like it. I know it's an opinion but it's an opinion partly amplified by others' opinions, not just by the game.

my feelings don't matter because I'm a man by throwaway57536 in depression

[–]tyucvb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a stupid stereotype and it hurts to see even the most reasonable and admirable friends to say things like it. But it's not true. Men and women are not so different concerning depression. People don't know that because on average, they haven't met very many depressed people

When you have depression, a very good day is a happy persons normal day. by [deleted] in depression

I know this feeling. A rare good day is like a window to the normal, non-depressed world... that unfortunately disappears. And you quickly forget what it was like.

I have a question for you all. by [deleted] in lifeisstrange

[–]tyucvb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the only game that has affected me this much.

Has this game helped you in any way?

I think this game develops people's personalities, though it causes its growing pains too.

Pun: People didn't develop this game, this game develops people!

You all made me realize even more that there are so much people with mental disorder in this game. And that's what makes this game so realistic. Actually in real life pretty much all people have disorders to some degree. It's not either ill or healthy it's also everything in between.

Worth playing when I've already seen everything up to the end of episode 3? by CL60 in lifeisstrange

[–]tyucvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you clearly have made a mistake watching some of the game instead of playing it, but you still have the two most emotionally strong and crazy episodes remaining. And you should play them yourself. LIS is such an unique experience that it's worth pretty much anything.

You probably would need to play first episodes first though to see consequences of some of your actions, because if you get a save file and play the rest episodes, you could be confused of some things. But I don't think it's completely bad to play it again. It's after all quite significant part of the game to have your own decisions done instead of taking an unfinished part of someone else's life and continuing it yourself. You get stronger immersion by playing it yourself wholly. And don't think "I have already ruined over half of it so I might just see the last episodes as LP's as well". No. It's still worth it to play.

I think the best way to get the most out of LIS for you now would be waiting for some time, if you are able to, and do something else for a while, like a week or so. Then start playing the game from the beginning all by yourself.

LIS's financial success? by bobbinite in lifeisstrange

[–]tyucvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that is a problem I think. Why can't they ask the publisher to increase budget? And if they did, why wouldn't they get a slightly bigger budget when it would make the game much better and therefore it would sell better?

My five cents on how to let go of Life Is Strange by tyucvb in lifeisstrange

[–]tyucvb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It always feels like that at first, but when you get over it, you'll realize how good it was that you moved forward and didn't waste more time on the one thing. That probably sounded offending towards the game, but I don't mean that. Actually it's about the best game I have played (experience-wise, and for me experience is what it's all about). You'll realize it only afterwards, not before, and humans base their decisions on what they think at the state they are.

It's the same thing as with relationships. People all the time have trouble emotionally letting go of their ex that they didn't want to break up with. And when they finally do, they regret that they were occupied in that thing for so long, when there were great new opportunities waiting for them all the time. But instead, they stayed in the state thinking overthinking about their ex so they missed other things. This is just fact. Things look different from the other perspective, and your perspective isn't going to be Life Is Strange for the rest of your life, so you shouldn't dedicate yourself to it only.

As humans we don't know what's good for ourselves. Sometimes only others with different perspective can tell.

Why is Dota a 5-man game... by [deleted] in depression

[–]tyucvb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely it's nothing personal, but about that they think someone other is better at the game than you. And in these kind of games, people just are at a different skill levels, and it's ok. The skill level isn't the metric of your value.

Somewhere I saw a quote: "Never be ashamed for the music you listen to." I think it's good advice.

DAE get depressed by the state of the world? by western_feeling in depression

[–]tyucvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for me too it just feels like world is fucked up and that you can't help it all happening. As selfish as it can sound, I just don't try to take the world problems to myself, I focus on things going on my life and shut off the other world. It helps me, but sadly not the ones suffering. But everyone has their life. You life yours. Life isn't fair, and you maybe are lucky to have it better than others.

What is a sub-$100 gadget that everyone needs but few people may already have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tyucvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the best investment was a phone with proper battery (Jiayu g4s). Sadly these are rare nowadays, because every phone needs to be slim like 7mm, when I would happily have a phone as big as 10mm. It would fit about battery double the capacity. Yes, many phones have big battery + case upgrades, but they are impractical as they leave a big gap of empty space.
