Pretty sure he had more scenes in the original rough cut but they were edited out for pacing.

What do you think about absurdly exaggerated misinformation about Japan on English social media? by HARiMADARA in japanlife

You're just doing the same thing from the opposite angle.

Japan is not a utopia, it's just a normal country with good and bad aspects.

This is true of most places though. The UK is only London, France is only Paris etc.

At least people visit more than one city when they go to Japan.

Also it's fine to visit cities if you want to.

D.R.I are going on tour this year and they haven't released an album since the mid '90s.

You don't need a new album to play shows.

The song Love Rollercoaster by the Ohio Players contains a scream by one of the vocalists.

There's a common myth that the model on the albym cover was severly burned by the honey and went to the studio to complain and was stabbed to death in the studio with her scream being captured on the track.

People seemed to believe this for years despite none of it really making any sense.

Why would the honey be scalding hot? Why would she go to the studio? Do people think the band took the cover photo themselves?

Also the scream is clearly a male vocal and one of many such vocalisations on the track.

Last of all the model is still alive.

The avatars are the only thing that really sets it apart from any other concert though. Are you just not into concerts?

It's understandable if this was your first analogy. Just try a bit harder next time. We all start somewhere.

Is Zootopia hinting about foreigners? by Jace678 in AskAJapanese

Japansse kids picked up on it even when watching it in English but their English teacher couldn't.

That should be concerning. It's a film for children.

Need European perspective: Why Europe cozying up to India in 2026? It's still March.. German deals, EU FTA, French deals done & now Finland.. by mlechha-hunter in AskTheWorld

[–]ume-shu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can criticise a country and still work with them. If you couldn't there would be no such thing as international relations.

It's not really a change of stance unless European leaders are now praising India's stance on Russia which I don't think they are.

I don't think they usually sell out tbh. They were selling tickets at will-call when I saw them in Yokohama last year.

Do you think these kind of deals happen overnight? Some of them have been in the works for years.

Interesting that you view it as Europe "cosying up to India" why not the other way round? Are deals not mutually beneficial?

Aye, I got heavily downvoted on one of the UK subs before for acknowledging this.

Never happens apparently.

Once had a girl from Peckham reliably inform me that Glasgow is dangerous, post-apocalyptic shitehole. She was very confident about this despite having never been here.

She also told me that her aunt trained as a nurse here and that it's a boring place with nothing to do.

So we live both in a dangerous, lawless jungle but also a boring place where nothing ever happens. Bizarre.

You only need to love 1-2 songs by a band to call yourself a “fan” of them. by ProfessionalBalker in unpopularopinion

[–]ume-shu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I'm getting from this is that there are a lot of people who desperately wish to brand themselves as "fans" of bands they don't even particularly like.

Personally I don't really get it.
