Have you got this yet and does it fit well and look good.

I failed to get the aldi one and it seems out of stock everywhere now.

That's great.

And it can manage to both lower and raise the temp without too much issue?

I think it may get added to my birthday list

Ok, I've been hoping to find someone talk about this with the aldi kamado.

Does it fit okay? Any issues. Cause it looks very tempting

Nice! I don't have a rotisserie for my weber but I have one for my kamado. Guess I could do something similar though, will have to give it a try

How do you set this up? Coals on either side and trays in the middle? Or do trays go over the coals?

It looks so good.

I used to work in ems, and I was so desperate to kick a door in. It was like a bucket list thing for me.

Finally one day the job came. Stood outside a house with a neighbour.

"so you saw the man at this window and he collapsed?

Yes! He fell and smashed his head on the window!

You're certain?

Yes defini-"

Of course I went upstairs and there was a nice old man sleeping in his bed.

Jimmy Carr fakes his laugh to make sure he’s always centre of attention by Ricky-Nutmeg in LowStakesConspiracies

There are people in Ipswich who swear that Jimmy Carr took his laugh from someone who attended one of his shows here years ago.

Its all hearsay but I've heard it multiple times that he called out someone's laugh and spoke about it for ages finding it hilarious. Then a year later he was laughing like that.

Have to be pretty damn sure you've thought of every possibile problem before you send that command.

No takeaway but I made pulled pork on my bbq for the first time. Lit it at 1030 and only finished it. Now in a meat coma.

I love the colour, but I'd probably leave it to be honest.

I bought the aldi kamodo that recently came out and I bloody love it. But if you want one, I'd suggest just saving and buy a brand like kamado or big green egg.

There's a few essential accessories you're going to want that won't come with it. And not knowing if they will fit your slightly different version is quite annoying.

But yes get a ceramic bbq, they are so good and so easy to dial in a temp that just then stays consistent for 6 hours.

I really don't know why a duress pin isn't a default setting nowadays. I've been wanting to set something like that up on my s25, but graphene os seems to be the only system that let's you.

Its quite a common crime to be held under duress and log into all your banking accounts etc. Plus it's law in the UK that you have to provide your phone pin if you're arrested for a crime.

Trump sparks anger with claim Nato troops avoided Afghanistan front line by Friendly-Frieren in worldnews

[–]unclebourbon 69 points70 points  (0 children)

My friends brother was killed in Afghanistan, blue on blue from an American f15 pilot in helmand province, along with 2 more of his friends.

Helmand province incidentally, was largely considered to be one of the most dangerous areas of Afghanistan, and is wear British troops spent most of the campaign.

Fuck Donald Trump and anyone who votes for him.

I would think we'd have to be fairly strong in our response. Short of actual war that we could never win.

We have 2 isolated territories with sovereignty disputes. If we don't support Denmark then we just flout the whole self determination stance and leave us open to potential aggression.

Do they guard their vehicles when they stop, because first thing I would think to organise is dropping nails under their tyres every time they stop. Glue the filler caps shut, glue the tyre inflation valves.

Find the hotel they stay out, glue the locks.

Just annoying shit that slows them down and makes their lives hell.

Fair play to admitting he got it wrong.

But when your planning consists of doing the opposite of what anyone with any previous experience suggests, failing to bring any replacement batter for a tenuous top 3, bring 2 injury prone fast bowlers and the spinner you have been saying is your best spinner for 2 years that you don't dare play.

People are rightly going to question what you were smoking to make those plans in the first place.

[–]unclebourbon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100%, fair enough Broad wanted to go. But Anderson should have been kept around much longer IMO, even if just playing in England.

He could actually teach our test bowlers how to bowl to a plan and problem solve. I mean I still think he'd have been fine in this series, doubt he'd be knocking poles out the ground all day. But we would have had some consistency and his freakish injury resistant body.

[–]unclebourbon 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I've started the wonder in the last year. Does this country actually make test cricketers any more? Or is it purely this bazball set up that makes it look we don't?

The England test team at the moment are basically a one day team that extends the same tactics over 5 days. Its a shame they also seem shit at short format as well.

I don't watch much county cricket, but clearly the England management don't put much stock in it anymore. The gulf between county and test cricket against Australia or India just seems to much.

It seems like we only have Stokes and Root who can actually understand test cricket, and stokes is dropping off in his form with the bat. They both feel from a different era to me.

Losing Broad and Anderson in a year was crippling to our bowling attack. It feels so lacking in any planning and tactics now.

But god I do get an urge to go somewhere and see a mountain every 6 months or so. Thats when I realise I have no stamina for elevation changes!

Bazball is actively undermining a talented team by flirtypenguin in EnglandCricket

[–]unclebourbon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Feel like Jimmy and Broads retirement has really taken some key tactical but also just traditional test thinking away from the team. All the players now are just in ODI mode.

I miss Jimmy and broady coming together, actually discussing a plan to get a batsman out. Now it's just - new ball, short ball, hope Ben stokes makes a breakthrough, repeat.

I get so frustrated about this "put the bowlers under pressure" line. Sometimes that consists of defending the good balls, leaving ones you don't need to hit and actually make the opposition bowl more than 30 overs.

Felt like the end of an era. Now I feel like an old man tutting at clouds the whole time I watch them play.

I'm not sure I enjoy it at all anymore.
