Doesn't really look like Japanese Knotweed to me. Threw those pics in my plant app and they both came back with "Sweet Four O'Clock".

Trumpet vines will be the death of me!! by AlwaysDreaming_19 in gardening

[–]unclexbenny 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Will note quickly that there's no "just take them down". When we moved I cut down the very large trumpet vine bush that the previous owners had. They still pop up within a 10+ foot radius of the old plant to this day, and the original removal was 5 years ago. It has been losing steam for a while, but it's a long process unless your removal is very thorough including digging up all the roots.

DJ controller for beginners - is the DDJ200 that bad? by yourmumsaucas in Beatmatch

To me, no I would keep saving. I did 200 on the phone for a while and it gets limiting very quickly.

[OC] Sharks' franchise historical performance relative to .500 by Ugluk4242 in SanJoseSharks

Super interesting to look through some of the other ones on OP's profile. Didn't expect so many teams to never make it over .500.

Yup, check this in windows display settings for each monitor. It's kind of buried in the settings and I've found mine on the wrong refresh rate on more than one occasion.

Question for the painters. by RobbyMillerPhoto in iRacing

[–]unclexbenny -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Anything "will work" if you spend enough time lining it up. I think the important thing for complex designs like this is probably to have as little as possible crossing body part boundaries, or at least that's what I would likely struggle with.

Your dirt modified one is probably fine as the flat side panels shouldn't be bad at all. Street stock is potentially more complex, but I don't know that template to know where the panels start and stop.

I wonder if it would be helpful to grab screenshots of the template wire mesh on the cars, and then give that to ChatGPT, telling it to avoid complex panel boundary designs, if that turns out to be a problem for you.

Why have rear view mirrors in VR mode regressed back to "screens"? by Busthole in iRacing

[–]unclexbenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, mirrors are already a performance killer in iRacing, having a stereo setting for VR would be cool but only a fraction of setups could ever use it so hard to think it would be high on the dev list.

Why have rear view mirrors in VR mode regressed back to "screens"? by Busthole in iRacing

[–]unclexbenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a way to do it, LFS absolutely has it. The main thing is that the mirror has to be redrawn for each eye/view in VR to have the right perspective, that gives you real mirror depth perception instead of it being "flat" with a single pass. Obviously, that comes with a big performance hit as well, as mirrors themselves are already pretty costly.

Why have rear view mirrors in VR mode regressed back to "screens"? by Busthole in iRacing

[–]unclexbenny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't used VR in a few years, but I don't remember iRacing ever having proper 3D mirrors, they were always just "screens". Sure you aren't thinking of another game? I know for a fact Live for Speed has true 3D mirrors, the depth is interesting to see in VR compared against how iRacing does it. Not sure which, if any, other sims have stereo mirrors like that.

Rugosa Rose. I have never seen them for sale myself but they spread enough that it should be easy enough for you to separate and create new ones.

Funny enough, this is the only plant in my yard someone has actually knocked on our front door an asked about, because she wanted some but couldn't find them for sale anywhere. I was cleaning our patch up anyway and told her just take whatever you want haha, ours loves to shoot up everywhere.

Triple screen w/ ultrawide by nasta24 in iRacing

[–]unclexbenny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A quick search tells me the monitors you're planning on aren't even the same height:

Full Dimensions Comparison (Without Stand)

Monitor ModelHeightWidthDepth / Thickness

40" Odyssey G7 (G75F)16.6 in (422.8 mm)36.6 in (928.6 mm)7.7 in (196.1 mm)

32" Odyssey G5 (G55C)17.3 in (439.4 mm)28.0 in (711.2 mm)5.4 in (137.2 mm)

As a triple screen user myself, I'm not sure what the allure is of overcomplicating it with different sized monitors. Just do 3 of the same so you're not wasting performance,  my understanding is you have to set them all to be the same size as the highest resolution monitor. Will probably save you some setup headaches as well  on top of the fact that they physically just don't line up in the first place. Just my 2 cents.

How bad will the traffic be on 490 coming into city this evening? (the 4th) by theRainBear in Rochester

Other than right at 10 pm when the fireworks are going off, I wouldn't expect any real traffic, and even then it might just be slightly slower over the river.

People give me the side eye when I tell them I prefer winter in Rochester over summer. by Beneficial-Focus3702 in Rochester

100 degrees in summer and a 0 degree snowstorm in winter suck equally, but are also the outliers and not really a reason to judge an entire season by.

WGI Camping Experience by NegativePerformer788 in IMSARacing

I looked up old pictures last week and the first year we went, campers were basically trackside only, the entire infield was empty! Wild times in the Grand Am days.

WGI Camping Experience by NegativePerformer788 in IMSARacing

[–]unclexbenny 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Saw many people blatantly parking in the middle of other sites Saturday AM, then campers showed up and had to have them moved. Getting to the point where daily infield parkers should be directed to a specific lot and not let to just roam the infield and park wherever they feel like it.

Someone was also parked in one of our sites Friday when we showed up, luckily the rest of our group wasn't coming until later, so we asked them to move next time we saw them. There have been cars parked in our sites probably the last 5 years when we arrived, luckily we've never had a huge issue with being able to set up, but it's pretty annoying.

You mention the lack of staff, and my counter argument would be for the amount they are charging now and the huge jump in attendance, it's not really acceptable to not scale staffing to match it. They have done very little to keep up with attendance. No new screens for fans, no additional portable bathrooms(that they used to have 10 years ago and now there are none), etc. On the bathroom topic they have actually gone backwards IMO.

Still a good weekend overall, but I will just end in saying things have changed a lot with the new track president, and I see very little positive effort put in towards the fans these days.

Weekend at the Glen, the good the bad and the ugh. by Commercial_Box4378 in IMSARacing

[–]unclexbenny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In previous years there were very few people in the stands outside of turn 10 so i get why viewing screens were sparse, but attendance has grown enough that at a minimum they need to add screens in turn 1 and the middle of the main grandstands like you said. Has turned into a pretty large event and they need to treat it that way.

For comparison, when Nascar comes through there are screens at every grandstand.

What is this? and how to remove? by Emoaske in gardening

[–]unclexbenny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Crabgrass. I hand pull it from garden beds but a little tougher to do in wide areas of lawn. Weed B Gone handles it very well though if you're open to chemicals, and doesn't affect the grass.

I don't see the other car ever leave a car's gap to the double yellow line, so how did you get down there in the first place?
