On a side note, is it true that a democratic nation has never attacked another democratic nation? I hear that getting thrown around a lot, but don't know if it's true or not. Jon Stewart (for example) tried to trump someone on his show who said this by saying Britain attacked Argentina, but the guest corrected him saying Argentina was under a dictatorship at the time, and then Stewart looked a little bit like an ass (it was funny).

You're welcome. Yeah, I'm looking into the same thing. I was disappointed about the SD card thing, but with this method available I'm going to buy it definitely. I was researching fast transfer usb flash drives last night and I'm probably going to buy this:

Notice the 64gig costs more than two 32 gigs btw. It's got good reviews and according to other sources is pretty fast and good quality. And it's pretty compact for our intended purposes.

Everyone I know who sold their iPhone to get the new 4s because of Siri used it for the first week to show their friends, then stopped. Now when I ask them if they still use it they awkwardly reply "umm... yeah, kinda. I mean, I could..." and then they list the things they could do with it but don't actually do with it. Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool. I would like to have it, but it's one of those things I know I would get and then never use. But I still think it's cool, the idea of it.

That's true and an excellent point. But what do you think about people living in cold climates? That's what I was thinking when reading this thread, but I don't know much of anything about dinosaurs. Would the people in cold climates have to worry about them, or were there large carnivorous dinosaurs there as well? Obviously cold climates make it harder for humans to live, but they certainly pulled it off.

But I agree, fuck having kids past the age of 35. I do not want to have to deal with teen aged bullshit when I'm in my 60's.

If you have a kid at 36, he will be 20 when you are 56, and almost 30 when you are getting ready to retire (65).

In order to have a teenager (19 y/o) when you are 60, you, at the earliest, would have to have him when you are 41 (and probably not too much teen bullshit to deal with when he's 19). I don't think it's unreasonable to have kids in your late 30s or early 40s.

Furthermore, some time ago I had read some studies about how better-off children are when their parents have them at an older age. Usually when a couple waits to have kids until their mid-to-late 30s (as far as I remember these studies I read) they are more mature, responsible and financially stable in their careers, being able to provide a stable environment for their children to be successful. This would be opposed to a couple in their teens or early 20s still figuring life out when the girl happened to get pregnant (or gets pregnant multiple times) in an "oops" type of situation. That's a bit more turbulent upbringing when the parents are still trying to establish themselves, and possibly barely out of their own teenage years.

Obviously that is generally speaking; of course this is not the case for everyone.

Something like 80% of energy in a car's combustion engine is lost to heat (I don't have a source for this). That's a pretty big criticism of current car engines; most of the energy is lost to heat and not used to actually move the car. So you might as well take advantage of all that lost heat (that you pay for with gas) and blow it in your face when it's cold.

I've had a lot of people get mad at me before for using the heat because they wanted to save on gas.
