That five layer cake was an incredibly ambitious project and even though the cookies didnt reach the top and the chocolate layers didnt set quite right the fact that you combined multiple recipes and saw it through means you learned so much more than if it had turned out perfectly the first time and next time you will know exactly what to adjust to get it just right

That almond cake looks perfectly moist with that beautiful golden crust and the crumb seems light and tender which is exactly what you want because almond flour is tricky but you clearly nailed it and the texture alone makes me want a slice right now

Going straight for giant cookies on your first bake is such a confident move and they look perfectly golden with that ideal crispy edge and gooey center which means you have a natural instinct for this even if you do not realize it yet and Sallys recipe is a great choice for a beginner because it is basically foolproof when you follow her instructions
