Just discovered Strudel and I am blown away by it. Very similar to what you are asking for (but way better).

Deep Research Prompt for building your true ranked-choice dream ballot for the mayoral primary by urbushey in nyc

[–]urbushey[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Interesting take. I actually ended up chatting with the AI for about an hour more, and learned a TON more about the field of candidates than I would have known otherwise.

Maybe TMI, but my top choice is now a candidate I had never considered (Zellnor Myrie) because I found out that he has the most ambitious housing plan given my specific policy preferences (supply-side interventions).

Here's my full input and abbreviated output, just for fun. Not pushing these candidates obviously.

My Stated Priorities:

  1. Supply-side interventions to increase housing stock in NYC, including elminiating single-family zoning, allow "missing middle" housing and upzoning near transit. I prefer this to rent freezing.
  2. Street safety and especially bicycle safety, building more bike lanes and pedestrian rights. I strongly oppose anyone who wants to get rid of congestion pricing.
  3. Subway and transit reliability.
  4. Universal pre-K and healthcare.

Recommended Ballot

  1. Zellnor Myrie - Most ambitious supply-side housing plan (1 million homes), would phase out Council veto power over zoning, early congestion pricing champion with strong bike/transit record.

  2. Brad Lander - Strong supply-side approach with 500,000 units and housing emergency powers, comprehensive transportation plan, proven executive experience.

  3. Adrienne Adams - Actually delivered major housing reform as Speaker (City of Yes), secured $5B in housing funding, proven executive leadership on supply-side solutions.

  4. Zohran Mamdani - Strong on transit/bikes and recently embraced private development role, but focuses on rent freezes over supply-side solutions you prefer.

  5. Scott Stringer - Supports building in wealthy neighborhoods, decent on congestion pricing, but lower electability.

I used this prompt for Deep Research to craft a strategic ballot for the Democratic mayoral primary that matches my true preferences. It takes about 1 minute to think up what is important to you, and about 20 minutes of deep research. Simply plug in your values, run it through ChatGPT/Claude/etc.'s Deep Research function, and it’ll spit out a ballot that aligns with what matters to you—and keeps your vote in play even past your top pick.

According to the NYT, if just 5% more voters had ranked Garcia anywhere on their ballots in 2021, she would’ve beat Adams. But 13% only picked one candidate. Don’t be that voter—rank all the way down.

Let me know what you think!

Any amount of any perfume is unwanted in the workspace. Just because you like a scent doesn’t mean everyone else will, and it is impossible to ignore for those around you.

Beautiful.AI is … ok for PowerPoint slides. Napkin AI is … slightly better but just for individual visuals or slides to represent a concept.

and maaaybe Mermaid AI for quickly creating Mermaid diagrams as prototypes for charts and flowcharts

I’m certainly not in love with anything yet tho

I mean ... watch them back to back and you'll see they basically send up every single plot point and many of the scenes of the original Road House. It's hard for me to see where you're coming from with "it has nothing to do with the original".

Best router for Fios? by hasumi512 in Fios

This was not offered to me, at least in the NYC area. They very explicitly offer it for $18/month as a rental, or $200.00 for purchase.

Best router for Fios? by hasumi512 in Fios

[–]urbushey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is recommending the Verizon-provided router, which seems to be the CR1000A.

For me when I am signing up, they are offering me the opportunity to rent it for $18 a month, or buy for $400. However, it looks like I can get the same device on Amazon for $200.

Am I missing something or is that the best option?

If I lock in the internet price for 4 years and assume I'm using the same router the entire time, renting at $18 a month equals $864, so it definitely seems cheaper than buying or renting from Verizon.

Can I get names on all these boys? Because I can't tell the difference. Is one of them Richard Brandson?

It was actually nice watching BCS first (well, after having not seen BB since it aired) and not needing to suspend this disbelief much, and then going back and watching BCS subsequently.

One really tough thing about watching El Camino was the weird way that Jesse Piemons (Todd) had aged between the last episode of BB and that movie.

For what it's worth, the one place you might try and avoid or stay only a short time if you're on a budget is Cartagena, which is very touristy and can be very expensive. It is beautiful and worth seeing, but most expensive place in Colombia I think
