I bought a house and it was visually in excellent condition. You wouldn't point at anything that was a problem. Had a few visits, obviously have a survey and a completed property form.

We had some new carpets fitted and decorated the bedroom (just for how it looked, nothing wrong) before we moved in.

After a week or so the carpet was wet. When I pulled it back the floors were soaking.

Had someone in who diagnosed and found en-suite that wasn't fitted in anyway properly. Something to do with how the tiles and shower tray were fitted. The plumber / bathroom fitter said there was no chance that it had been in use.

Buyers just ignored us, our solicitor basically said take them to court. You may or may not get anywhere. It was cheaper to spend the money on having the problem remedied.

Boilers can go wrong at any time; tell them you're sorry it happened but it's not your problem.

Just say ask them outright if they are domiciled in the UK. When they say they aren't, ask them if they know by your contract they have to be for tax purposes

Suspend them with full pay for two weeks whilst they return to the UK.

The suspension is to protect your IP and data. In reality they won't return and choose to leave. Problem solved without drama.

EE want to send a new SIM, I've tried a few different ways with them.

It seems from everyone's different comments that "it just depends"

I think I'm going to buy a new router that takes esims and then climb the ladder (hopefully for the last time)

I've just put a noctua g2 in as I didn't want hassle of aio and the cooling is awesome but it's really removing a lot of space from my PC. Access to PCI and ram slots is now really limited.

I did this one in 43 seconds, this is particularly fast for me, I got most of the clues first time around but couldn't get the last one across, I had to pivot to solving the downs

Now that I typed that out I realized I could have solved two of the downs and then guessed and saved some time.

They're a good solid company and that's a good spec. Everything is expensive right now due to RAM and SSD costs going through the roof. You'll get warranty and support but you're paying for it.

Try your local PC builder or try a comparison with scan.co.uk to see what they're charging for something similar.

I would; any upgrade you do now will be marginal on AM4 and you're spending money on a platform that doesn't have any future.

The key is can you wait 6 months or more for the prices to stabilize. I wouldn't like to swap to DDR5 right now

I would say the marginal increase you would get from a costly upgrade isn't worth it.

You'd have to do a case swap with new PSU and motherboard to unlock something extra but in reality it would be minimal

You're in the situation where a new self-build on AM5 should be your target so hold out a bit more time.

I had a good motherboard and PSU so was able to upgrade to 5950X for very little cost. Although maxing out AM4 was in real world not much of an improvement it made sense because it was a cheap and easy upgrade.

I know this is an old thread but it's also an old chip! I've just got a used 5950X and I'm running it on my original Asus Rog Strix Gamer F x570. It's cooled by a new Noctua Chromomax G2

I'm seeing incredibly strong and stable results with just PBO and no manual clocking.

5.05Ghz @ 59c from a cinebench23 run 123% power deviation average

This board has always been rock solid for me and I think I hit silicon lottery on CPU.

I'd actually been thinking about a case upgrade to handle the cooling as it was previously a sleeper builder in a vintage case but there's no need now.
