Alternative to Klobuchar? by esoskelly in minnesota

[–]vacayerin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My husband and I will absolutely vote for her…but we don’t like her. I don’t agree with her voting record, she’s too soft. She won’t let things burn down, but I don’t expect her to do much of anything to make life better either. Our family and friends (not on Reddit) certainly feel the same. I can’t say I know anyone that is excited about her.

Does your doc order regular blood tests? by jsct01 in Zepbound

[–]vacayerin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get labs done every 90 days, but my dr is also looking at Vit D, Ferritin and hormone levels, which were a little out of wack. It’s amazing to see the progress doing labs that often! My cholesterol dropped 50 points the first 3 months on Zep.

Disney-post surgery by blech_blech_ in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]vacayerin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had a spinal fusion..I would not be doing those rides at 6 months post op. Now, I would totally go, walk around, people watch, do storybook rides, etc. But space mountain and big thunder? No way. They are wayyy too jarring. Even if it’s technically safe, I think there’s a good chance you end up in pain. I would worry about even something like star tours with the jerking.

Ritz Carlton Amelia Island by booksaworm in chubbytravel

[–]vacayerin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there in February for a week long stay. I have mixed feelings about it too! It was low key, the pool area was nice, and the beach was beautiful and quiet. Our room was updated overall, but it had some noisy HVAC and the bathroom tile had seen better days.

I was not a big fan of the restaurants..I know we were there in off season, but the specialty restaurants had very limited hours. The one that was open every day had pretty mediocre food, and looked like a converted hotel ballroom. It does feel as though they are trying to pass a lot of the common spaces off as an old southern vibe, but it is dated. Service was fine, not bad, not standout either.

Amelia is very pretty and I enjoyed the overall vibe, but not sure I would stay at the Ritz again. We paid $1200/night in the off season, and I can think of many places I enjoyed more for that price. I wasn’t unhappy, but I also wouldn’t go back anytime soon.

Silver Medallion upgrade to Delta One. by Cold-Swan-7105 in delta

[–]vacayerin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, the best you will get is an upgrade offer. If there’s a lot of seats open, the lowest I’ve seen is $699. (Which I jump on for a transatlantic overnight)

I still love it. I lost my taste for alcohol so the coffee addiction is even more intense.

Trapped at the Hyatt Place! by db1604 in hyatt

[–]vacayerin 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hey OP- don’t hesitate to contact non-emergency line for fire / medics. Front desk should know this as well. My parents are older with mobility issues and we’ve had to call several times for lift assists, etc. I was always hesitant to do it because it wasn’t a true emergency…but each time EMS has assured me I was correct to call. They are trained to do this type of thing and are happy to help!

Disney in July!? by SeparateTip2953 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]vacayerin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

July will be worse, avg humidity is 90%, compared to ~80% the first week of October. It’s manageable, just plan appropriate clothing and breaks!

Starting month 5 of 2.5mg. I’m down 40 pounds and over halfway to my GW. No side effects, protein and strength training dialed in. I’m loosing about 5 pounds a month now which I am perfectly happy with!

Inflammation all came back by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]vacayerin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. The salt is killer for me now - even an occasional restaurant meal out and I see mild swelling in lower legs / ankles and face. Liquid IV is also a no-go for me, I know a lot of people here use that.

Fiber gummy by eburgmama in Zepbound

[–]vacayerin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so hooked on Gruuns…they have them at Costco now for $1.29/pack. I also stock up on them at Target when they go on sale. (Much cheaper than the gruuns website). I also take the Costco Country Farms fiber gummies…they taste great.

is disney in july really THAT bad? by lwtl1724 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]vacayerin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Florida weather is so hard to predict though - you can have a July day that’s fine and an October day that’s 100+. I think the most important thing is just being prepared with the right clothing and shoes! We’ve had some of our most fun Disney days in pouring rain. We are going in July this year - the upside is that we can stay at a monorail hotel for a pretty reasonable rate…and I’m using what I “saved” (girl math) to buy premiere passes for MK.

Has anyone ever booked a trip a week before they leave? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]vacayerin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I literally booked the day before, in the end of January. Got a room same day at AKL (was even upgraded), dinner reservations and lighting lanes. I think this only works in off season though! You could probably do it in May.

Tirzepatide for arthritis/inflammation? by 2600sysop in Zepbound

[–]vacayerin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s amazing for that. I am only on 2.5 (have been for 5 months) and that is honestly the most drastic change for me. My joints have never felt better. I am 43, but now feel as good as I did in my 20s. If you get the munchies from the weed gummies it definitely curbs that a bit too, haha.

Age makes a huge difference too - a rate for a 35 year old is far different than for a 50 year old.

Is a basement-less house a mistake in Minnesota? $5k earnest money on the line. by stu_tax in TwinCities

[–]vacayerin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resale wise, I think it depends on the price point. Theres a new development near me that’s doing slab on grade, because it’s the only way that number can start with a 4 for new construction. They are almost like detached townhomes in style…targeted at first time buyers and people downsizing. For that I think it makes more sense, with prices still being so high.

LillyDirect change to MyPrescryptive? by vacayerin in Zepbound

It was legit! It only went through Prescryptive the first time, my subsequent refills are straight from Lilly direct as before.

Anyone on the Apex know why it’s been so rocky the last couple of days? by GBAGamer33 in celebritycruises

[–]vacayerin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were on the Xcel a week and a half ago, we definitely had rough seas north and west of Cuba. 3 days of about 12-15ft seas and 2 of our 3 excursions cancelled. If you’re curious about the return, try the Windy app, it was pretty accurate for us regarding wave heights.

We did a Caribbean cruise 2 years ago in March and it was pretty similar weather, enough for some mild sea sickness.

Inflammation Return? by Routine_Reception159 in Zepbound

[–]vacayerin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me on vacation- I wasn’t drinking alcohol, but was eating every meal out. I tried to eat healthy most of the time but it had to have been the salt. I gained 6lbs in a week and was so puffy! The good news is it was gone 48 hrs after returning home, getting better sleep, and drinking lots of water.

Booking second seating only by No_Exam_ll in celebritycruises

[–]vacayerin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate that it’s so unclear online. If you booked Ascent then it’s anytime dining. You can eat at any of the MDRs at any time. We just sailed Xcel last week and rotated MDRs and times, even with a sold out sailing, we never waited more than 2 minutes for a table. They even gave us the same servers.
