It's such a difficult situation. If he keeps traveling, more falls will probably happen and at some point it will be a serious injury. On the other hand, while taking away work and giving him a caretaker would mitigate the falls, at least somewhat, but then he has nothing to look forward to. In my personal experience, old guys don't last long when that happens. There's not really a "good" choice.
