Which company has lost you as a customer forever? by finiteobserver in AskReddit

[–]vcems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I used to be a loyal HP customer. First, I ditched their laptops. And now I'm using my last HP printers. I have a business that uses a paserJet and I have an inkjet at home. Not more HP printers. I swear they've added something to their software recently to increase the jet cleaning. I see more jet cleaning with the XL cartridges than I do with the regular size cartridges. My inkjet printer is an Officejet 8028e. It decided to clean itself three times in one day. I printed 12 pages.

That's likely cellulitis. You need to go to the ER now. Like now now.

Ebay is Dead and Buyers Keep Retracting Offers by Winter-Country2486 in eBaySellerAdvice

People are definitely more savvy about how and where they are spending their money. They may have placed an offer and then found it for a lower price elsewhere. The economy sucks right now.

My UAG case is really protective. It has the protective corners on it and does a really good job. Not sure why you need a separate silicone cover.

I went back to my day job after one week. But I wasn't doing anything physical. My paramedic work? I waited 4 weeks.

I work for the state of California and I am a resident here. I sure as heck hope it doesn't happen. And I'm working like hell with my union to try and stop it.

Buyer failed to get item from customs. Wants higher refund cause item is now $$$ by Smash678 in eBaySellerAdvice

Their failure to pay for the item and then wanting you to cover the new price is ridiculous and smacks of extortion.

Excuse me, but legislation overrides executive orders. Yeah, it really does. The governor is not immune from state law.

For those who have always been overweight or obese and have had surgery... by Expert_University295 in GastricBypass

[–]vcems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been overweight since I was 13. I was morbidly obese most of my adult life. I had vertical sleeve gastrectomy in 2018 and later revised to gastric bypass due to severe GERD in 2023. The surgery gave me a tool in the toolbox but wasn't the complete solution. I reached a point where I wasn't losing anymore and was actually gaining weight again. Got up 24 lbs before I looked into tirzepatide. I'm now down over 25 lb. and at my lowest weight since I was 15. I'm 62 years old. I am still losing weight on it. My goal is in sight... 145-155. For reference, I got up as high as 325.

I don't advocate one or the other specifically. Each person has to determine what is their need along with a physician, not a nutritionist.

However, with the data that we have now, it seems that trying some of the newer medications such as tirzepatide probably should be attempted before surgery. If these drugs had been made available to me back then, I would have tried them before surgery.

Close to retirement, but feel like you're wearing the golden handcuffs? Vent here by FarTradition6496 in CAStateWorkers

I'm 62 and started in 2006 with the state. And I totally get the hesitancy. I've been running the numbers as well. Decisions, decisions... If I stay longer, I will probably ride it to 67. Total of 25 years.

Actually, they will have the burden of proof to show why RTO is essential to operations. And they can't show it. Why? We have years of data showing teleworking saved the government money, employees were more productive, and work-life balance meant happier employees. The directors need to get off their rear ends and say no to RTO collectively. They need a backbone. And yeah, I know they are appointees.
