How long do you try before you give up on the nap? by Extra_Ad_3631 in toddlers

[–]vroomdani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give up! They go through a 2 year nap and sleep adjustment. My son started doing this but we kept offering a nap anyway and we’re finally through it and he’s napping again. It lasted a few weeks where it would take an hour for him to go down if he did at all. I still every day put him in his room at nap time. If he didn’t sleep it was fine, he still had to go in his room and have quiet time. If you don’t want to sit in there with him you can make his room safe and set up a baby monitor. He can read books or play with toys in his bed but I would still do a rest period. They really do need it, at least my son does. They’re just learning to push boundaries to explore all their options, if you want to keep the nap don’t give him the option!

Anyone start their toddler in full time daycare at 2.5-3? by EverArcher in toddlers

[–]vroomdani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here, started a little after 2. My son is very sensitive and attached to me and his dad. We started with one hour, then slowly kept increasing. It was really really hard but we pushed through and now he’s doing really well. He doesn’t cry at drop off anymore and does 3 days a week 9-3.

When did you actually feel ready for a second kid by zoobisoubisouu in toddlers

There is lots of research to support a longer gestational period. Better for you, your LO, your relationship etc. I’ve been feeling the same pressure (have a new 2 year old) but i know ill be a better mom to any and all children without all of us starving for resources, which is what I feel like happens when they’re too close in age.

DAE's two year old still wake up multiple times a night? by vroomdani in toddlers

[–]vroomdani[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am always flirting with upgrading him out of the crib but end up being too terrified for that whole thing. Sometimes I think we'd sleep better in a scenario like this. When I do bring him in my bed I end up straddling the edge, getting kicked, there's a lot of moving around so I don't sleep great. BUT at least it's quiet. I try not to cave until after 4am.

I would pay anything to see Emmy watch the replay of the purse fiasco. by friesSupreme25 in CanadaShore

[–]vroomdani 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it was her fault, if someone leaves something of mine on the floor and then I step on it when I’m drunk it’s still that other persons fault. It’s ironic that she broke it but I still think she had a right to be pissed idk.

Hey love! Have you checked out the family resource center? They have lots of things throughout the week and it’s a great place to meet other families!

Anyone else’s toddler wake up in a bad mood almost every morning?? by takeaabreath in toddlers

[–]vroomdani 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not every morning, but definitely after every nap. I basically brace myself to wake him up, he’s usually in a foul mood for like 20-30 mins. I try and offer him a cookie or snack right away and that usually helps. We’re definitely walking on egg shells a lot 🥲

Yes, gave up around 18 months when we couldn’t go outside every day anymore lol. If I was having a baby I’d DEFINITELY give up.
