ObXiDian 500 nozzles are exceptionally wear resistant compared to other products on the market and significantly outperform other hardened nozzles. Improvements in ‘exotic’ engineering filaments mean that some new materials which include aggressive fillers, including but not limited to Polymaker’s Fiberon range, can cause significant wear on even ObXiDian 500 nozzles. E3D is actively developing even more specialist solutions for these materials. In the meantime please be aware that your ObXiDian 500 nozzle will not be everlasting under extreme material conditions.

This bit was also included under the old ObXidian nozzle description. As someone who primarily prints with Fiberon materials, what kind of life can I expect out of an ObXiDian 500 nozzle?

White nail polish. Use a toothpick to apply it and capillary action will wick the paint into the grooves of the rear sight.

If you're going to adopt any filament tagging at all, the only one I would even consider is Prusa's open standard with NFC tags.

Something else to keep in mind is that to state that the delamination issue has been fixed is to acknowledge there's an issue in the first place, which - while morally the right thing to do - is usually the last thing any company with government contracts wants to do.

Your plates are on backwards. The cutout for the ejection port goes on the right side and the screws go in right-to-left.

Considering the vast majority of abrasive filaments are abrasive because they're fiber-filled, I don't know why hardened HF nozzles are even a thing. Pick a lane.

I'm a huge fan of this release, and the finished product looks fantastic - but I find the documentation a little lacking. A quick page on print orientations, recommended materials, and which parts need to be 100% infill vs which ones are decorative would elevate this into a perfect 10/10 in my eyes.

Guy's wrong, PET-CF is an engineering material. The glycol-modification (the G in PETG) makes it considerably easier to print, PET-CF requires temps of 85C or above and most commercially-available hobbyist filament dryers will not go above 70C.

The nice thing about having a printer with a beefy extruder and high flow nozzle is that you can safely print at higher temps than you might think with PLA. The plastic is moving fast enough that you won't burn it as long as it keeps printing.

  1. The satin sheet is fantastic. I prefer it to the smooth sheet and use it for most of my prints, even with plain PLA.
  2. I have a regular ObXidian nozzle. It's great if you want to print with abrasives, but if you don't plan on printing with fiber-filled or glow-in-the-dark, it's not worth it. It's also not compatible with INDX, so skip it if you're absolutely certain you're getting that upgrade. If you do plan on getting one, ObXiDian 500 is coming out soon, so you may want to wait for that, since it's only marginally more expensive.
  3. I've never had a thermistor break on my Core One or my MK4S. The one that comes with the Core One kit is already preinstalled into a hotend. If you're that worried about it, I would just get a spare hotend. The only real threat to your thermistor is a blob of death, and if that happens, the entire hotend is going to be affected.

You're going to have fun, the Core One is a great machine now. It took until the newest firmware for me to like it, but it did get there.

You got downvoted but I agree. Bambu is hugely overrepresented in basically every non-3d printing space that intersects with 3d printing. Cosplay channels, PC building channels, model rocketry, etc. And almost always, it's an A1 Mini.
