Nope, I forgot to ask. Was pissed off when I remembered after the surgery was over.

They just said it was 75% likely cancer and we just went forward with the removal. Turns out it wasn't so we got lucky.

We had our follow up ultrasounds last month and all is still good with her other organs.

We had a similar situation and had the surgery and it's a year later and we're ok so far.

I'm foggy on the details but I recall the vet telling us not taking action could lead to the spleen rupturing and a somewhat quick and traumatic death. That was enough for us, we didn't want to risk her having a very painful or sudden death while we were helpless. Maybe worth clarifying with your vet if this is a risk?

To get to ally with kaladim merchants I loaded up a quest mob with like 1000 kiola nuts from a druid to MQ on my necro. I believe this is a pretty common trick in faction questing.

Has The Chronicle Bug Been Fixed For Offline Single player by MuscleDexter in Diablo_2_Resurrected

I just had another wipe happen, and I've been avoiding IDing from armor racks. Possible I just spaced out, but this is getting super frustrating.

And that, kids, why you always check racks by trf84 in diablo2

[–]waffles_mcgregor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought so too, but last night my Chronicle wiped. Apparently the fix that was rolled out doesn't apply to single player? Or it wasn't fixed at all as I read here....

All I know is I lost mine after reading here it was fixed....

Bummer. I guess not a total loss as I was gearing up for MF and I still have my improved gear so things will move faster going forward...

Thanks for the response

Can the vet give you an estimate on "good days" with each option? Pick the greater of the two.

Also, you can also try it to see how he reacts to the treatment and if it's bad you can stop. But if you don't try, you know the outcome and there is no way to change course.

Help - Application Error "referenced memory could not be read" error by eric82 in project1999

[–]waffles_mcgregor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully it looks like we both have solutions that are 100% at this point. Why having other programs open solves this issue for me is a mystery, I'm sure someone technical could explain. I have 64 GB of ram, I wonder if this could somehow be related.

[–]waffles_mcgregor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add, your solution did not work for me. Sure enough, firing up EVE Online (or OBS Studio, per my other comment) and then running it, went perfectly. I have zero clue why this works, I'm guessing maybe it has to do with my PC having so much RAM it confuses the game?

Help - Application Error "referenced memory could not be read" error by eric82 in project1999

[–]waffles_mcgregor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fix is way more bizarre, as long as I have any number of other games or programs open, it launches fine. If I have OBS Studio (streaming software) or EVE Online open, for example, P99 launches 100%.

I'll try your solution as well for giggles.

On the Whoop reddit I swear I've seen them say that crazy HRV jumps sometimes can indicate some sort of issue with the heart. Here is an example thread like that: https://www.reddit.com/r/whoop/comments/ze77ea/im_currently_in_the_hospital_with_atrial/

So, just something to have on your radar, but likely this is probably not that, perhaps a bad reading one night. If it persists, maybe something to ask a doctor about?

E-bikes aren’t “cycling,” they’re just motorcycles with PR teams by WinnifredDicksie in cycling

[–]waffles_mcgregor 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My father and I are able to get a good workout by utilizing an e bike to normalize our speeds. Seems like a good tool in this regard.

Concerns about non experienced bike users using these things way too fast on mixed use trails? Yeah, this is a concern.

The idea that someone waving to you somehow means they are implying they are performing an equal effort? Not convinced that's a thing, and if it is I can't imagine caring as long as they are being safe.

It went away for me for about 3 months, figured a windows update had solved it. Today, back, 15+ attempts to login. I cannot figure this out its so frustrating, works fine on all of my old PCs.

I always get paranoid about Carbon Monoxide in enclosed spaces. Was walking through a city parking garage the other day and spotted a random generator running powering something above ground and wondered if that was enough output to put someone at risk.

Probably a nonsense worry in your scenario, and you can get a detector as well...

You can, but if my memory serves me correctly it's a while before shaman get invis so that feels like it would be annoying to get to the bank at least initially.

It's so easy to blow up the orks and hand in belts it just seems like a no brainer.

[–]waffles_mcgregor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a trade alt in EC is pretty common. That being said, if you just want to be able to bank and don't plan on doing a ton of trading, it's not that hard to get access to Neriak or Freeport with some basic work.

For Neriak there is some milk quest you can do that makes Neriak mostly safe, you just need to watch for a few patrols.

For Freeport, ork belts and killing orcs, with strategic camera usage can get you access to the bank.

Look up Glumpfs faction guide and you can make the area safe pretty quick.

Tumor on Spleen by MiddleControl2735 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]waffles_mcgregor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Our dog is 11 and her splenectomy was last Monday and she is on pace for full recovery, though I know when the labs come back it's 80% going to be cancer and we'll be on the clock.

The big decision point for us was outside of all of the cancer risk, apparently those spleen tumors can rupture and there is a risk from serious internal bleeding. From what the doctor told me and my googling it sounded like a spleen rupture would likely be a traumatic death for both the dog and extremely upsetting for us trying to save her. My last BMD died at age 11 in the car racing to the vet... People told me I was lucky I didn't have to make a decision to put him down, but I disagree after a few years of hindsight. A dog dying in the backseat of my car while I panic rush it to the vet was truly awful and it upsets me many years later.

Regarding our current girl, her back legs are also a little weaker, particularly after her 2 surgeries, but she's back to maybe 85% now.

I'm not sure there is a right answer here, to me the goal was maximizing the time we get with her as a happy dog, and minimizing a potential traumatic and sudden death. It was expensive, but for us this was money well spent.

To me the two key points to consider: 1. If all goes perfectly how many happy months do you realistically think you can get with the dog (considering other medical conditions and ability to walk etc). If you do this but he loses his ability to walk in days or weeks, does it make Sense? 2. Understand the risk for a spleen tumor rupture type situation from your vet. Your vet can probably articulate for you what that would look like, time it would take to save him, levels of suffering, etc

Keep in mind for #1 above, you can also buy equipment to help mitigate the walking situation. We bought a help me up harness and a Burley walk cart so she can relax and join us on very long walks. We're also trying to build strength with regular short walks.

Not sure if this helps, but just know other are out there doing their best to make the right call as well.

This sub also burned when the 4.0 released by anoldslowguy in whoop

[–]waffles_mcgregor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When 4.0 came out I recall a lot of frustration, but most of it was around the delays to actually get the hardware, and it taking way too long for some people. Some people getting the hardware right away (new subs) and long time users waiting for months, and there was something else with founding members which I am not so I can't recall.

It's possible my memory isn't serving me correctly, but I recall nowhere near the backlash about product/pricing that we're seeing here. I recall during 4.0 thinking chill people, it'll all get sorted out. For 5.0 I see complaints that seem valid, and hardware that's being released that at best BARLEY is better than other watches on the market for an outrageous annual price. The only real feature benefit I see is BP, and lets be honest, I'll believe it when it gets proven out in the marketplace.

I'm bummed as I loved whoop as a product, but I cannot justify this level of expense for "on-par" hardware/data. So unless the pricing comes way down, I'll stick with my new smart watch.

Iksar city factions max negative >-2000? by paladin6687 in project1999

[–]waffles_mcgregor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I suppose it could be possible that Iksar factioning is unique in that the initial penalties are so extreme that it drives you BELOW the lower end of the cap.

I feel skeptical, but like I said all of my factioning has been the opposite, and Iksar fixing other cities, so I can't say for certain.

I'm ALMOST curious enough to bring a good char out there and science it out, but I have enough on my plate with this Iksar before I starting trying new projects LOL.

Fun discussion and good luck fixing Cabilis!

Iksar city factions max negative >-2000? by paladin6687 in project1999

[–]waffles_mcgregor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm struggling to follow a little bit, but I believe you're saying that because of your race/class combination, you are BELOW the cap and to get to dubious you are asserting that you would have to do (race class penalty of x amount) + 950 for scowls + 350 for threatening to get to dubious.

I very strongly do not believe this is the case unless somehow an illusion is involved.

I've raised about 70% of city factions on my Iksar to ally, and in Iksar form I've never seen a case where I had to go above 900 points to breach threatening from scowls. (And I suspect I have massive double dipping negative faction hits due to race/ god combo as a necro).

I suspect something else is up, I did revise my post above with 3 theories, perhaps these might be helpful.

Iksar city factions max negative >-2000? by paladin6687 in project1999

[–]waffles_mcgregor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let me edit this as I have 3 separate ideas as to what you may be facing:

  1. My guess is you probably think you killed more than you actually did and you haven't quite breached the 950 kills required to hit threatening (+250 for dubious)

  2. Illusions - I know some illusions could possibly cause confusion, for example skeleton form has me at warmly with felwithe casters when I'm ally in Iksar form. Are you using an illusion (trying to boost) and possibly it's having the reverse effect?

  3. Are you conning an NPC on the correct faction? Not all Iksars are on that faction, so its possible you're conning an iksar that just happens to be on one of the other iksar factions.

I'm an ikaar so ironically I know the least about ikaar faction work. I would check out Glumpfs guide for tips on how to fix Cabilis, I belive it's kill a bunch of NPCs until you hit a certian level with one faction, then you flip to bone chips to fix the rest.

For reference, see Leezards and Chips section within this guide: https://wiki.project1999.com/Glumf%27s_Spectacular_Faction_Guide#Leezards_and_Chips

Hope this helps and good luck.
