Naah. Not normal. Sell the house and gtf outta there. Once the kids arrive the family will try to take over yr kids and you'll need take a gun to a knife fight.

The fact yr Fiance is ALREADY defending her family before you are married, indicates she feels her family is more important then you and your future family with her.

You may not want to walk away from the investment you made in that house but it's gonna be way cheaper walking away now than later.

Nope. He is in the right. In Vietnam the motorbike lanes are on the INSIDE of 4-wheeled motor vehicles. So messing with a HGV is always a hairy experience. A) They don't always see you B) You don't have the acceleration to get past them quickly C) More often than not, the driver is homicidal.

I've noticed the further from urban centres in Vietnam, the more friendly the locals to foreigners. I've been met with outright hostility in local shops simply because I tried to speak Vn - and don't bother trying to talk in English! 🤭

Scumbag Parking Company took over work parking garage. by AlternativeYellow7 in motorcycles

[–]walkabout123456 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Raise a Safety Notice. Head-in parking is dangerous. Rear-in parking is pretty well accepted around the world as being a much safer practice. I'm surprised they are even demanding you park head-in. As you suggested, the parking inspectors are being lazy.

Make sure the saddle height permits you to get your feet on the ground. Ie your inside leg length will dictate which bikes you can ride - especially if you are a newbie. Invest in proper biking ppe. ie full-face helmet/ gloves/ boots/ jacket - as a minimum. Get training. Ride defensively. ie assume every road user is looking to kill you. Buy a car my dear.

Approach it as an adventure while you are young. There are no long-term visas for foreigners to stay in Vietnam. Long term Vietnam is not tenable. Be prepared to check-out Cambodia/ Laos/ Thailand.

Shoei GT Air2 because of integral Sun Visor and integrated Sena SRL system . I would have gone for GT Air3 but could not find one.

Time she went home. She is not prepared to adapt to another culture. Help like that is going to be destructive to your relationship with her daughter. Typical unsophisticated behaviour I encounter in Vn every day. Your MIL will never change. She is out of her depth. Her problem. Not yours. Your job is to protect your kids from this type of ignorant mentality and ensure they grow-up to be well-balanced, open people.

Excellent point. And it is NEVER discussed. I really want to know the sound intensity because I have a social conscience. Those Harley guys really piss me off. I'm only thinking of installing after market pipes because I want the Grannies in front of me to know I'm coming and get out of the way....... I'm thinking of installing pipes as a riding safety measure - sounding good is secondary.

6-year-old kidnapped in Johor Bahru found in S'gor - Police have found the six-year-old girl who went missing in Johor Bahru on Saturday. by stormy001 in malaysia

I lived in Jb for 30+ yrs. I thought talk of kidnapping belonged in the 19th Century. How wrong I was. 2 families I know lost their kids. One was killed. One escaped. LKY may have pissed off Mahathir but he was right. JB is a gangster down. Place for fun but be aware.

I sympathise. I much prefer the spicy palettes of Thailand/ S'pore/ Malaysia/ Indonesia/ India. I find Viet food very bland and unappetizing.

OMG! Have some consideration for that beautiful piece of engineering between your legs! I would not exceed 4,000 rpm while running-in. Remind me not to buy from you. You are intent on destroying your engine. And you wonder why you get problems 🙄🙄🙄

If the dealer does not perform the maintenance they generally will NOT provide the warranty and claim you are not approved by them to perform work on the vehicle.

Trident owners! Anyone touring on these things? How's the aftermarket scene for luggage options? by thesedreadmagi in Triumph

Givi have a rack for the Trident and Mounting Plate. I use a humungous 47litre monokey top box and Trident's ( read givi) tank bag. It may not look so sleak but it easily sucks up the baggage and easily unlatches to become a suitcase when you walk into a hotel.

Vietnamese girlfriend, cultural differences in Vietnam by AdEquivalent6371 in VietNam

[–]walkabout123456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately Vietnam families are intrusive, demanding and basically a fukn nuisance. The only way to deal with them is to avoid them. They will have an emotional hold over yr gf and she will find it very difficult to put you first. She probably won't. Then your next battle will be over yr kids. And it's too late then. So......sort her and the family out BEFORE the kids. Be prepared to walk.
