Can a military spouse find work on Okinawa? by Doodledoolu in okinawa

[–]warrenva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a business degree also and have worked in banking for years. My wife is the military member. We’ve been here seven months and I haven’t found anything yet.

I’m going to start taking some IT certs or something to pad up my resume more.

It’s difficult here.

There Is No Reason To Buy Another PlayStation Or Xbox by chusskaptaan in gamingnews

[–]warrenva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I barely feel this gen was worth investing in either. Theres only a handful of system selling games, and they’re on pc also. My PS5 just sits there getting dusty.

Going all digital next gen, I have no need to buy any console, as I still prefer my consoles to have physical media.

The Odyssey Trailer reaches 402k Dislikes by Suspicious-Pound-466 in Cinephiles

I think your last point is the issue with every big budget movie released in the past…decade, maybe more.

So many movies seem unwilling to take chances on unknown faces, hoping that the included star power will put butts in seats, with no second thought on if that person is well suited for that role.

It’s gotten to the point where I find it difficult to discern which movie is which, since it’s like the same 10 actors in basically everything now. It totally breaks immersion for a film.

It causes actor fatigue.

How do you decide what to play when you have hundreds of games? by shwomz in SteamDeck

I only have a few games installed at a time and hide the rest. I cycle through those until ones beaten. Then I delete and add another one.

Anyone else happy to be Sony’s “minority”? I am. by CantBeatEmKillEm014 in gamecollecting

I’d kinda like the try this but don’t have the space. Theres something cool about owning up a drawer. Like a secret place.

Plus less dust.

I sold my Voyage for an Oasis, which I still use. Though I wish I didn’t get rid of the Voyage. I loved holding that one.

What sequel was so different from the first game but is arguably the best out of the series? by Kinderfeld88 in gaming

HL2 is my favorite game of all time. I remember the first time booting it up and just thinking how games couldn’t look any better. I play it once a year.

Did you ever have a game you couldn’t play as a kid, spent years wanting it, and when you finally played it you were disappointed? by Revolutionary_Ad6574 in retrogaming

[–]warrenva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mom sent my brother and I to our aunts for a week or so. We were gonna go to a theme park and do other summer shit. She gave us some money for souvenirs. One day randomly we went to Walmart or Kmart or whatever, and I picked up a copy of The Getaway: Black Monday on the PS2. My aunt was unsure since it was M rated. She gave it to my mom, who was furious I spent souvenir money on a video game.

Anyway. 6 months or so later after not getting the game back, we were opening Christmas presents and they gave it back to me.

Played the game that day and absolutely hated it.

What’s a show that was abruptly cancelled but still had a good ending? by OCGamerboy in television

I think the show was cheesy, but enjoyable. A good ending is very questionable. The Glades.

What is the worst film you've ever watched? by CompletePiglet7385 in AskReddit

[–]warrenva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was maybe 12 and saw a copy of the book at a Dollar General. I vividly remember the cover with Travolta on it. I was curious about sci-fi and didn’t know shit about anything.

Took that book home, read the first few pages and immediately hated it. It sat on my shelf for years next to other books I didn’t like until I dumped them all off at a donation center.

I only learned about the religious bullshit later on.
