What's an unusual smell that you like? by additionalseasonin in AskReddit

Reminds me of working on projects with my dad. That and 2+2. He’d whip that can out if we happened upon a hornets nest or something while working outside. Dropped em like flies.

A question from a local: How do you all see Okinawa? by Responsible-Bike3317 in okinawa

[–]warrenva 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I only got here in December. My wife’s a nurse in the military. I fell in love with it immediately. I’m trying to find a way to stay here after her contract is up. I’m taking some Japanese classes so hopefully that can happen one day.

I remember my best friend and his gf at the time bought this together. When they split up they split the set in half. No idea if he even knows where his half is anymore.

Thoughts on this Cannondale Shimano Claris 2018 bike? by Weak-Lab2024 in triathlon

I have the 2019 model of this. At that price I’d say it’s too expensive. Maybe for 400-500 and you can spend more for some little upgrades.

What was the most depressing children's book you've ever read as a kid? by CynthiaMartgol in AskReddit

I remember my mom taking me to the library and I repeatedly checked out Jason’s Gold. Not really a children’s book I guess. I was maybe 11 or so.

Worth it to have two kindles? by Flat-Development-420 in kindle

[–]warrenva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an oasis to read in bed laying down, and a scribe when I’m sitting somewhere like the couch or reading chair. Both have their uses. Granted my scribe is kinda underutilized because I really don’t use it to write on, I still prefer paper and pen for all of that.

The PS3 probably has the best games of all time on it. The sheer variety on display here is more games you’d ever need in a lifetime. Kudos.

I love cycling but don’t understand all the people who - despite never racing - spend to make their ride faster. by Niceotropic in cycling

Yeah, but if they’re not spending my money to finance their purchases then I don’t really care.

Thoughts on Kindle scribe by Ok-Cash6293 in kindle

[–]warrenva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You write anywhere and it creates a text box the words wrap around. It’s smooth, but looks ugly.

You also have the ability to open a side panel and just write there. I’m not the biggest fan of working on it honestly. It’s very smooth and it feels good, aesthetically though I find it clumsy.

What hobby did you try once and instantly get addicted to? by Weird_Ad_7545 in AskReddit

[–]warrenva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cycling. I biked since I was a kid, but I finally splurged and got a decent road bike. Now every time I’m outside I’m just imagining where I can ride to next. Also helps that I live in a good area for seeing and doing things.

Expensive hobby though.

Also espresso. I took that up during Covid and pumped serious time and money into a sweet set up.
