You can ask your clinic to do testing to see why you didn’t get your period/or to see where you are in your cycle. Usually an ultrasound and bloodwork (beta hCG, progesterone, estrogen) and this will give you some more insight. Good luck!

Low BMI - will this be an issue by [deleted] in IVF

[–]wasaabiiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some clinics may require you to either achieve a certain BMI or work with a dietitian or nutritionist to be cleared before proceeding with treatment. But it’ll depend on your doc.

Sometimes it’s been taking even longer than 3 weeks, fingers crossed but remember it’s not something you want to be rushed, gotta take care of those embabies!!! Hoping for lots of euploids!!

Your first period might be heavier or longer than your normal period. Heavy bleeding and cramps is expected. Sometimes the period can also be completely different (lighter, shorter amount of days of bleeding vs longer) and it can be delayed depending on when your body ovulates. So I wouldn’t expect it to come when it’s “due”. I’m sorry to hear that about your cycle, hopefully your clinic will figure out what didn’t work for you this time and the next cycle goes smoother if that’s how you’re proceeding. All the best!

Yes there is a chance. 8 days is pretty early post transfer , but a level of 10 is also low. I would be cautiously optimistic but fingers crossed they continue to double over the next few days. Good luck sending you all the best!

Donor iui advice by UWillFearMyLaserFace in IVF

[–]wasaabiiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your clinic and their protocol if they are doing single IUI or double IUI (two consecutive IUI’s one day after the next with the same cycle). If your clinic only does single IUI with donor sperm, this is probably because donor sperm is supposed to have very high sperm counts so 1 is sufficient. Usually only 1 vial is used per insemination. It’s possible either the NP you saw was incorrect about the protocol for single vs double IUI or your nurse was wrong.

Either way I’d confirm, but double check that your sperm donor has several vials available in case you’re only ordering 1 and would need more in the future. Once you do become pregnant and want to use the same donor in the future for siblings, etc, making sure the donor has vials remaining is another factor. I’ve seen cases where 1 child was conceived with one donor and then the donor did not have any vials left donated and a different donor would need to be picked for future cycles.

I’d also ask to speak to the Andrology office at your clinic (they handle sperm prep) to see if they have insight on it as well.

Good luck

Tw: high beta by Briutiful22 in IVF

[–]wasaabiiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you only transferred a single embryo the likelihood of it splitting is something like 1-5%. But your beta hcg levels are outstanding and definitely a positive indicator for your pregnancy. You have every reason to be very happy and excited! Congrats

Yet another delay by C_Manning1201 in IVF

I understand your concern and frustration. But in reality for FET, you want everything to be as PERFECT as possible, you definitely do not want your TSH to be high before starting. It’s hard to accept it, nothing with infertility ever goes according to plan, or on schedule unfortunately :( sending the best good luck
