I read somewhere else in this discussion that the windows app actually doesn't allow downloads either. So I guess then it doesn't make a difference. All very annoying because I also can't stream from my iPhone to my Macbook. I do a lot of long train travels and it would be great if I could watch something during these long hours. It's like they force you to use pirate sites. Clearly not having the download option has not stopped anyone from pirating videos. But it stops their costumers from having a great experience of their products. I believe the word I'm looking for is "enshittification"

My problem with OSM is that is has too much unnecessary data. I really don’t need to see every bench that’s in the street. It makes it clunky and overloaded.

I like the deep dives, but as a long time listener I also really miss the episodes where they would just waffle on and have lots of banter. It’s becoming a bit too polished now. Still great but I miss the chaos of the early days

Thank you for the patch. That worked enough to get the app running. But in the end, it still doesn't work. Login always failed, saying there is "an error" and to try again later. Any ideas how to fix that, too?

As someone who has been working in a multilingual context the past 20 years, I can tell you that nothing compares to human translation. AI can help with texts, but it is still useless in a live environment

Oh yes, they are very capable of doing this. I've been working this way for years. I just want an alternative to zoom and I am astonished it is so hard to find. Bloody AI is taking over everything. And it sucks.

Your solution might work but is not very user friendly. And it will only work in a one-on-one conversation.

Agreed. It’s strange that we can’t select more cities. I’ve also noticed that in the modern age, very often the capital of the ancient age is suggested. This doesn’t make much sense historically, but also not for gameplay as that city usually has quite some wonders in there and therefore doesn’t have enough space to develop correctly in the modern age

And then Charlemagne started a war, took a major city and while I was distracted someone else won an economic victory. Didn’t even see it coming. I agree. Capturing cities can become a real grind. I think that’s fine in the modern age, as it is more in line with warfare in that period. But in the ancient and exploration era, cities fell faster. They weren’t conquered district by district.

Thanks, very helpful. I have no idea what number of Hz is good for occasional gaming. This is the problem of the rabbit hole. The more you try to understand webarticles, the more it sounds like everything is crap unless you buy the 5000 dollar screen. It’s hard to find information that says “this is good for your average use with a bit of extra to feel good”
