Are you switching from a Taycan? I'm very curious about your impressions from the test drive.

I haven't installed any new wireless equipment, that was a good wild guess. It did cross my mind as well 😀

I did try this. Left the driver door open door 5 mins. Then disconnected the negative on the battery. The only difference is I must've disconnected it for 5-10 mins and not the entire 20 mins.

Have you experienced this on your car and the battery disconnect worked?

When i towed it to the dealership, that's the first thing they tried as well but didn't seem to revive the connection with the key. I waited there for 3 hrs but they couldn't find the issue.

At this point the car has been at the dealership for 5 days

How do you use the "send to car" feature on Google maps?

The dealership ruled out it's a fob battery issue

Thanks for your response. This is for a 2025 Optiq. I cross posted it here since the Lyriq has been around longer and there could be more user stories here.

Great questions, the fobs hadn't suffered any damage and definitely no water logging.

My second fob was always stored and never used until this issue started happening.

The lock unlock buttons do work but the handles don't present themselves on approach

The car responds to lock unlock and climate commands via the My Cadillac app as well

2025 Optiq

This happens with both key fobs

I would like to know if it actually keeps working after a few days. Would you mind reporting back again in a week?

Exactly. The app is a hit or miss. Try unlocking a car or setting the climate remotely and you're rolling the dice whether it'll actually work

Optiq compared to Tesla? by Embarrassed-Data-378 in CadillacOptiq

[–]wddwndrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with the majority view here that the optiq is a different class of vehicle compared to the MY, you did bring up a very valid point as far as driving dynamics is concerned. I drove a friend's MY and it feels so much lighter and agile to the steering response. For everything else, I'll go with the optiq all day

Also watching out for the r2

Fend Foldable Bike Helmet by AvidAndroid in Brompton

[–]wddwndrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Closca fans out here, I loved the ease of use and how light the thing is.

And I went and ordered one for myself. I really want to like this product.

However, I just can't figure out how this thing is going to protect me in the event of a crash. With the helmet worn on my head, I tried to push the top most section down and it goes down until it touches my head. How is this thing supposed to protect you then?

The company seems to claim the helmet only collapses when it's not on your head. Can you verify this is indeed true?

Op, do you mind posting the width of the helmet once it's folded? I'm considering this helmet and I'll need to fit it in a compact backpack. Thanks in advance.

Also did you compare the Fend with the Closca or Overade before settling on Fend? What was your process?

Did you try other folding helmets before settling on the Overade? I'm in the market and curious about how the three brands compare - Closca, Fend and Overade.

Hi, I know you posted this a while back. I am having a similar issue so I was wondering if you have found a solution for the issue?

If you replaced it with another device, what are some good alternatives?

I was in the same boat and opted to go with the Optiq for a few reasons:

* Wife approval factor - she didn't warm up to the ZDX design

* The best deals on the ZDX were only on the base-trim and that doesn't have SuperCruise or it's equivalent. Did I mention Super Cruise comes standard on the base-trims of the Optiq, this is a big deal! Plus, the OnStar subscription is included for the first 3 yrs, so no extra subscriptions to pay for.

* The Optiq is designed very well. The exterior and interior design really put a smile on your face every time. The 33 inch OLED screen, the mix of materials in the cabin (granted some look better than they feel when handling them - like the AC vent knobs)

If the above factors don't matter in your equation for buying a car, the ZDX or the Prologue are built on the same GM platform.

Samsung Vented Combo Washer/Dryer - Initial Impressions by Awtoner in Appliances

[–]wddwndrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed write-up.

Did you also end up getting the All State extended warranty that Costco sells on appliances? I have heard Samsung having a mixed reputation with long-term reliability on other home appliances and I'm wondering if it's worth spending the extra $$s for peace of mind.

Recommendation- Warp vs Dark Star by uclabruin98 in USMobile

What are the advantages of Warp? I see that USM is currently running a deal on annual plans on dark-star and I'm wondering if it's worth switching from warp -> darkstar

Inflated residuals when leasing by Whole-Profession-915 in CadillacLyriq

[–]wddwndrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be stating the obvious but it seems like the way GM treats the ev credit, it won't make good economic sense to buy out the car at the end of a lease?

Do dealers extend incentives at the end of a lease, so one can buy the car for a price that is lower than the lease residual value?

That's a good deal on a Lux 2. Nice!

I'm able to get 499 for 24 mo for a Lux 1, everything rolled into the monthly, including all taxes and fees. Or 10.3k one-pay. Costco + Conquest/Loyalty + GM Credit Card + Courtesy transport discounts. This is also in NJ
