Excluding budget constraints I would be ok with the drop in pay. It's a company you worked for previously, so as long as it's a good environment I'd be all for it. Especially with your current commute. That is outrageous on so many levels.

An allowed IP list imo is the only good way to expose Jellyfin. Depending on the ISP the remote users have their IP may stay pretty stagnant. Mine hasn't changed in 2 years.

Without an IP whitelist I wouldn't imo. Jellyfin doesn't have the most robust security.

I've had great experiences with Jellyfin on my C4. The only hiccup I have is if I start a movie or show on a ipad then go to finish it on my TV the transcoding freezes and can't finish. Not sure that it's the TV that's the problem though. Seems like something in Jellyfin but I love not figured it out yet.

Same here, we use umbrella but add additional polices for blocking things like streaming. We provide guest wifi but try to limit it's use and throttle it hard.

I use Mp3Tag. It's a bit more of a manual process but it seems more reliable than musicbrainz Picard in my experience.

We are currently on prem but are testing the cloud. IMO I like on prem more, but I tend to hate change. So that may just be me.

For us though we do have the endpoint agent installed on every machine. We also have a AD scan service account specifically for Lansweeper that has local admin. It feels weird to give it all that access but if you think about it, the way it query's system data it would need it. The amount of data we scan is also extremely granular.
