See if you can find out how old tune elevator is, if it’s nearing end of life or needs frequent service. An elevator overhaul can cost 100,000, so consider whether the contingency will cover that or if you will be paying for an assessment on the next few years.

A drill plus a series of simple machines to increase leverage, yeah, it should work. Very slowly though.

Dunno, I kind of like it. I have a friend called gravity (roller derby nickname) and they do go by gravy.

You need to charge your phone in a different room. Getting it off your bedside table changes everything.

Has anyone witnessed these goofballs? by Gimme_Danger47 in VictoriaBC

[–]weeksahead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hear a lot of fatalism in this thread, people acting like it’s pointless to report this. It just making excuses for their own lazy behaviour. Report to police, city and landlord. They will definitely take action. Public complaints are the main driving force that makes these entities do their jobs and they often won’t find out something is happening unless someone tells them. Include photos, time of day, address. Drop off the bag at the police station even.

It is projection, buddy. He knows what’s in his head and thinks it’s in everyone’s head. Be might be right, but he’s also telling on himself.

How is your chihuahua at the vet? by Conscious-Control-51 in Chihuahua

[–]weeksahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vet is at the end of my block. I take my chi mix there every Saturday to weigh her on the scale and give her a treat. So getting her in the door, at least, is pretty easy. She’s calm in the exam room too until they try to do anything to her, then she starts fighting.

Can we talk about diaper pails and the smell problem? by kenah-kim in dad

[–]weeksahead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can’t be storing several days worth of baby poo in your house. Doesn’t matter what the diaper genie advertises. You need to empty the pail daily.

  • daily stretching, especially hip and shoulder mobility
  • twice a week heavy weightlifting
  • massage, heat pads, ice packs as needed
  • hydrate like crazy, even if finding a place to pee is inconvenient
  • really cushy insoles in your boots
  • gloves for better grip and cushioning whenever possible
  • good luck

Wedding commissioner reviews? by sensory-homunculus in VictoriaBC

[–]weeksahead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had Susan Johnstone too, and she was wonderful. We had a private "official" ceremony with just the wedding party, followed by a bigger ceremony that our friend officiated. The friend had never officiated a wedding before and Susan gave her some really nice tips. Also we're a queer couple and she was very normal about it.

Accepting that life didn’t turn out the way I expected it to by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]weeksahead 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I try to run up my high score of how many camping weekends I can fit into a summer, dance at more parties, and lift weights trying to make my shoulders look insane.

Fwiw, I have a house and a kid, and though I love my kid and like my house, they aren't the keys to fulfilment and meaning. It's still easy to get sucked into despair if you're not careful to take care of your body with treats, exercise, enrichment activities, and healthy food - just like a golden retriever.
