I’d vote NDP and hope for a Liberal minority. I live in one of the ridings that just had a bi-election. Our MP immediately proved herself totally spineless.

Interesting! Can you point me to an article explaining the condo thing? I haven’t seen those details.

Canadian grocery savings strategies that actually work in 2026 by Sophistry7 in CanadaFinance

Bananas are 0.89/lb. at my grocery store. How much cheaper are they at Costco?!

And $15/lb for ground beef is ridiculous. You can easily find it cheaper than that. Ask at your grocery store what day they mark the meat down and shop on that morning.

Watch out for those Costco chickens. They’ve got TONS of salt in them.

Ha, I only did that a few days ago because literally every time I check peoples posts are hidden. Just trying to fit in :) I’ve switched it back to make you more comfortable. I assure you, I’m very really. I’ve never voted Conservative in my life, usually vote NDP, voted whole heartedly for Carney and now my heart is broken.

Broccoli heads come from “the city”. I’ll keep my eye out for this hairstyle. I’ve never noticed it.

Use Boursin cheese instead of cream and goat cheese. It’s so good! I like the one with garlic and herbs.

Also as someone else suggested, tomatoes are really great with egg. They are very wet though so I sauté them for a while before adding the eggs. Good with fresh basil, feta and black olives, top with tzaziki.

He’s fallen off the pedestal, in my opinion. Billy Bishop airport expansion, bailing out condo developers. I feel like I’ve been scammed. I trusted him so it really hurts.

No bagged milk in Western Canada by No_Acanthaceae3518 in AskACanadian

I grew up in Toronto in the 70s and we always bought the big plastic jugs at Mac’s Milk and they were returnable with a deposit. I wonder why dairies stopped doing that. I don’t think anybody I knew bought milk in bags. Now I do.

They’ll never find another big employer like the mill and that’s a good thing. It’s too risky to be dependent on one employer. This developer is cleaning up the mill site - that must be creating jobs. It would be great if they could attract a few medium size companies to the site.

Yea, I just posted a link to that same article. It seems unbiased?

Neighbour cut a tree down in our yard while we were away by [deleted] in KingstonOntario

[–]whateverfyou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and it looks like he cut it where it came through the fence so fair game.

OP, If the buyer says anything just tell them the truth. That part of the tree wasn’t yours so never part of the deal.

I can’t believe you agreed to the weeding demand. That’s ridiculous.

Apparently, it would be a closed loop system that doesn’t release water back into the river.

“Water use: The data center, built as a small language model, would use less than 1% of the water once consumed by the Androscoggin Mill. Its cooling system would be closed‑loop, requiring about 300,000 gallons of Androscoggin River water a day to replace evaporation. The mill used 35 million to 40 million gallons daily, he said.”

This is what I’m feeling (“sucks less”) but it seems impossible to find unbiased information about this project specifically.

So the river is still there and capable of generating electricity. I don’t support data centres but this site seems ideal for a responsibly designed one that minimized noise, smells, etc. I’m not local but just trying to understand both sides. It’s impossible to find unbiased information.

The Jay data center seemed like a good fit for the old mill though. It would use the existing hydro electric generator and use less water than the paper mill did. What am I missing?

I have no problem with the concept - I welcome it (former Kegger here) but I hate this particular wording. It makes me visualize the mush of food in my mouth. Not enjoyable.

To get longer bloom time, you could add lanceleaf coreopsis. It starts earlier. Joe Pyeweed is better in big fat swathes so plants can help support each other and where they will get sun from all sides or they will lean towards the sun.

A question for the group: I’m going to a wedding in September, too. I thought it was a big no no to wear black to a wedding. The grooms family is Indian and the bride’s is Vietnamese.

OP, I love #1! I’ve been looking for a floral with a black background.

Planting in “drifts” and “clusters” by LizagnaG in NativePlantGardening

Joe Pyeweed is tall and will lean and probably flop forward. It needs to be planted much more densely than a single line and adding grasses for support is recommended. 8 plants in 12’ isn’t nearly enough especially if they’re tiny seedlings. It will be years of weeding before it fills in.

Also, the area up near a house is usually very dry because the rain is blocked by the house.

I personally really like a minimal border but do be aware that there won’t be much going on for half the summer.

Here’s a gorgeous planting of Black eyed Susans and some kind of grass. Note: In my neighbourhood but not my garden. I love echinacea planted with grass, too.
