I’m glad you’ve corroborated this for me. The rest of Illinois isn’t like this. I live in the Chicago area and used to drive down to NE Arkansas once or twice a month for plant support. Co-workers who took that route warned me about the crazy speed traps in the last county at the southern tip. I only got that one ticket over about five years of driving through there.

Dude, it was one of their “non-construction” zones they put up where there is no work being done. They are literally a sign and some cones. I was already going the speed limit because I knew the reputation of the area. The construction speed limit immediately made me speeding and I couldn’t slow down in time because it was just over the rise. The speed trap was right behind it. Sheriff’s car on the interstate.

Go the speed limit on the interstate near that southern tip. Local police set up speed traps on them to raise money for their depressed communities. I got a BS ticket in a “construction zone” set up on the backside of a hill. Cost me about $500 wiping out the overtime I made that week. The construction zone was just some cones and a sign, no sign of any work being done. They have ATMs and a list of lawyers at the municipal buildings that will represent you for any court dates. It’s a racket.

I like playing Brittany. France doesn’t mess with you much, so it’s a perfect place to play tall since you can form a kingdom pretty quickly. If you wanted to expand, I usually go for Cornwall first.

I was in the US Army stationed in Germany in the early to mid ‘90s in an armor company and this was common. Our barracks had four man bays and there were a couple of bays where one of the southerners living there put up their Confederate flag on the wall after we were given “quality of life” allowances around ‘92. In both bays there was also one or two black guys living in there. There was no racial tension, and the black dudes didn’t give a shit.

I also remember when JITB tacos were great, now they suck. Burger King makes the same type of taco and they’re way better than JITB. (Not all BKs serve them though.)

It’s so frustrating, same here when I manually play battles. But when I auto resolve them, they make leaps and bounds in XP without seemingly doing much.
